update on Justin part 2
Hi, Joe,
Thanks so much for your most generous of offers. I called the ADA Coordinator at The Meadowlands and asked him about tickets, and if we should be looking for specific ones.
He informed that it is common practice at The Meadowlands to send two tickets to any physically challenged guests, free of charge, so that they can enjoy the game with the best possible view. So he is sending me two handicap accessible seats free of charge.
I appreciate your gesture, it is has reminded me that there are truly kind hearted people left in this world. Your generosity and selflessness will not be forgotten, it has spoken to me, and rejuvenated me in a way. As a result of obtaining the free tickets, I do not want you to buy any additional tickets for me. Just know that the offer resinates with me as a reminder of good in the world.
I am still planning on writing some news outlets to let them know of your generosity and humanitarian efforts. I will copy you on those emails.
Thanks again Joe, and enjoy the season!
Justin
here is his post on BBi about it

Well, without us having to pay any money we got him two tickets and I'm happy as hell for him. However, we can do one of two things
a) Buy him some nice Giants merchandise with the money we raised
or
b) Just return everyone's money. I am fine with doing both and at this point I would have to invest 100 dollars as i said I would match the highest contributor. It is up to you guys and hopefully our story gets covered somewhere.

I don't want any money back...
But please, for the love of God, DO NOT purchase Giants paraphernalia with it. That’s how the terrorists are funded. Let me think about it for a day and I’m come up with some suggestions on what we can do with it.

yeah i'm with bye dawk
I didnt contribute yet, but i dont think we need to buy him gear.
Why not just donate it somewhere?

With the recent research that was publicized linking dementia to the repeated hits players incur in the NFL, it would be relevant and a good gesture to donate the money to a neurological research institute. I just googled “Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center” and found this. I haven’t contributed yet, so I really shouldn’t get a say, but thought this might be a good idea.

Maybe we can put it towards a backiotomy for Shawn Andrews.

Donation is a good idea
But, he does have cerebral palsy doesn’t he? A donation to a group working on that might make a little more sense.
I have not donated yet, I am a pretty skeptical person, kind of wanted to see where this was going. A donation would make sense to me, especially because my dad has a mild form of cerebral palsy. But any donation would be beneficial, plenty of good causes to go around…

First of all, how much money is there so far?
That might help with thinking of ideas of how it should be spent.
Something just kind of dawned on me...
He informed that it is common practice at The Meadowlands to send two tickets to any physically challenged guests, free of charge, so that they can enjoy the game with the best possible view. So he is sending me two handicap accessible seats free of charge.
That sounds fishy. I’m almost tempted to call the Giants ticket office to see if that’s actually a policy they have, because I’d have to believe that if it were true, a handicap person “in the know” already would have claimed those tickets. Seems rather unlikely that if such an odd policy existed there’d surely be at least some sort of waiting list. I mean… He just got free football tickets for a team that has a season ticket waiting list 40 years long and no single-game ticket sales whatsoever, that easily?
Is there a possibility he fabricated a story about “bad Eagles fans,” and possibly his “handicap” all together, and when a good person (Joe_D) stepped up to the plate to make things right, he was then forced to try to squash the situation and just hope it went away?
I’m extremely close to calling shenanigans.
I’m extremely close to calling shenanigans.
I would def check into this. I gotta say, as pissed as i was about the story of what happened to this guy, i’m gonna flippin outraged if this was a made up story
Dont Disrespect the Level
Might be legit...
The handicapped guy mentioned a “Mike Smith, ADA Coordinator” in this post…

And after a search, this “Mike Smith” seems to exist.

Sorry for getting everyone all riled up.
Touching story
It’s overall a great thing that Joe_D is doing here, and as much as he’s kind of picked on my writing a bit, I understand. Just a little salute to you Joe…you’re doing an awesome thing well worthy of respect by helping this guy out.

Well
I dont have anything against buying him merchandise, because the money were rised for him. On the other hand a donation is the good thing too. But if we use or imagination maybe we can come up with a third opportunity.
I still want to donate
however, I’m holding out until a consensus is reached regarding what we will be doing with it.

GREAT, and I mean GREAT idea that I'm just throwing out there.
Buy tickets for the Eagles-Cowpies game for week 17 and give them to a less fortunate Eagles fan who has never been to a game.

True but its worth it.
I was going to plan on ruining the game for all the Cowboys fans around me, but a home game works too.

I still don’t understand the FREE tickets to handicapped people thing. Also, what do they define as handicapped? A missing toe? A disease? Sounds fishy regardless

i got ur back man
the story is that a giants fan, who happens to be handicapped in a wheelchair, came to the eagles ass whoopin of the gmen at the linc and was harassed by a bunch of drunk eagles fans to the point where they were making fun of his disability and making other low blow remarks. JoeD took this whole thing to heart and decided to start up a collection to get him 2 tickets to the eagles@giants game, which a lot of people donated to (mostly prob bc a date with eaglesgrl5 was promised to the highest bidder). after gettin in touch with justin a couple more times, JoeD said that the dude justin called the giants stadium peeps and they gave him 2 handicapped accessible tickets free of charge.
for a lot of people (including myself) this raised a flag or two in that i never heard of something like this before, calling up a stadium, sayin ur handicapped and they give u free tickets. the whole story came into question and people became skeptic of this justin’s integrity. in the end, apparently it was decided to spend the collected money on giants gear to send to justin.
personally, im glad i didnt get a chance to donate in time because i wouldnt want my money going to giants propaganda for any reason, especially one that is of suspect origin. i think that covers it

Congrats NYY, it took you 9 years to buy a championship. I would love to see how that series would have went if Cole remembered how to pitch.
I am officially instituting the Eagles tickets for igottachubby charity fund or E-TIC for short.

They have Baseball and Football, always great weather to go to a game and NO ONE GOES what the fuck is that about.
That and I’m not a big Florida fan my girls family lives there (Clearwater) so having a place to stay for spring training is fucking sweet but I could never live in Florida that place flat out sucks.

First off I’m a seasonal person I snowboard, ride snow mobiles, and snow shoe in the winter so I couldn’t live in an area where that isn’t possible even within driving distance.
Second the economy down there is BAAAAD the amount of homeless I see when I travel around is sad.
Finally in the summer it gets way to fucking hot in August you can’t even do anything outside for more than 10 minutes without dying.
