Inqlings: For Akers, a cause with a catch | Philadelphia Inquirer | 10/04/2009
Eagles kicker David Akers can probably knock an extra point through the uprights blindfolded. As for the quality of his throwing arm, we'll find out Tuesday when Akers plays catch blindfolded with Voorhees Middle School students wearing simulation glasses to experience being visually impaired.
Fan-Demonium: The Best Of Jim Johnson - Philadelphia Eagles
Jim Johnson passed away this summer when the Eagles were in training camp and all kinds of different news items were happening each day. I wrote about Johnson at the time, but there was so much going on with the team that I didn't get a chance to write everything I wanted. Now that the bye week is here I want to take a final look back and talk about the most memorable games and matchups from Johnson's time as our defensive coordinator.

Two things...
…if stats alone gets you in the Hall of Fame, what about Vinny Testaverde? What about Kerry Collins? Of course Randall is better than the two of those guys, but you could make the case for them if it’s a stats based argument.
Second—Tebow is a gimmick clown. I know some of you here love the clown college offense, but that’s your problem. I’d rather have Kolb than Tebow, and you know how I feel about Kolb…

Just for the sake of argument...
in what world would Tebow last long enough in the draft for us to get him without some excellent Draft day maneuvering?

Tebow had a concussion. He plays like shit rest of season. Most teams get concerned about effectiveness in the NFL. He slips into the third round. We pick him there.
Possibilities…that said, highly unlikely that happens.
RIP Jim Johnson, best ever.

Randall Cunnigham had great athleticism……but he didnt read much of the playbook.
He was the prototype QB for the future…..big, fast strider….but you gotta have the intellect…..like Joe Montana, Steve Young, etc etc.
Doug Williams opened up everybody’s eyes in the Super Bowl.
He paved the way for the McNabb’s and Vicks etc.
GO EAGLES !!!!
RUN THE BALL ANDY !!!

Yes.
He does belong in my book.
He’s the reason I am an Eagles fan, being from California. When i was little I fell in love with the Eagles based on #12.
So yeah, he’s got my vote.

Absolutely
I’ve gone to the eagles virtual museum and a sizeable amount is about #12
You can't soar with the Eagles when you're surrounded by turkeys.

Put him in!
Any player who changes the idea of a position in a sport and transcends it for future generations should be in the HOF. Yeah the hall of fame is about stats, but it’s also about the impact a player has on the game. Yes, Doug Williams was the first African American to win a super bowl at QB, but he was a pocket QB like all the other QB’s back then. No one wanted a running QB until Randall came on the scene. He was running and throwing better than any QB before him. We all know the league didn’t want many black Qb’s in those days. Especially if they ran the ball, but Randall change all that. Thats why Vick was drafted, Vince Young, Steve McNair (R.I.P), and soon others like that kid Pryor from Ohio St. will be drafted. If Randall didn’t have the career the had, most of these guys might not have had the chance to play the position of QB in the NFL. Put him in!
