The Linc - Now we turn our eyes to New York

Didinger: How Good Are the Giants?
It is fitting the Eagles and New York Giants will meet on Halloween weekend because in many ways that’s what this game is about. It’s about peeking under the masks and seeing what’s real and what’s not about these two teams.

Bradshaw visits a foot and ankle specialist - NFC East - ESPN
New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw was not in practice Wednesday because he was flying to North Carolina to meet with noted foot and ankle specialist Dr. Robert Anderson. Bradshaw's been spending part of the week in a boot since tweaking his foot/ankle injury in Week 3 against the Bucs.

Mechanics at Core of McNabb's Throwing Woes
Donovan McNabb discusses his throwing mechanics. Winston Justice discusses his game against the Giants two years ago.

Giants' Smith expects success vs. Eagles | Philly | 10/28/2009
"They’re good. They’re savvy guys," Smith said of the Eagles' defensive backs, per Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger. "Sometimes they get caught with their eyes in the backfield and you can run right by ‘em sometimes. We’re not going to be surprised if we’re wide open down the field on a play. … (Opportunities are) going to be there. There are going to be a few plays where you’re going to be wide open. You just gotta make the play."

Ashley Fox: Giants remember McNabb's call | Philadelphia Inquirer | 10/29/2009
Waaah! The poor Giants still have their feelings hurt.

QB Mechanics

Those types of throws are nothing new with Donovan. He is in his 11th year and has over 30,000 yards, I doubt a sudden adjustment of mechanics will stop him from throwing worm burners.

This is not to suggest McNabb should be replaced or anything like that, he is still a top 10 QB. I just think that, after playing the position for the same coach in the same offense for over a decade, he is what he is.

I agree, this old dog won’t learn new tricks, He just needs better protection to be more effective.

I hope McNabb runs for a TD

then does a phone call celebration dance type thing. That would be hilarious.

Let's get it.

the funny thing...

the giants seem to be heavily remembering that for motivation…is it just me or is that a bit lame. if that is what motivates you, your team is a bit weak to say the least. im just saying

Those comments from The Impostor (Smith) are pretty inflammatory. I hope our DB’s pick up on him saying that the WR’s are “going to be wide open” and “not going to be surprised if we’re wide open down the field on a play”. I dislike this guy even more now. I hope Mikkel hits the shit out of him.

Okay so maybe it's time to move on. Hopefully it'll be moving on to winning a Championship!

If I did the whole "Twitter" thing...

I’d copy and paste Smiths quotes and or interview on to Asantes, or Machos twitter page. I wish Smith made those comments on the air or on a National sports program for all to see.!

The Fact that....

Smith said this to a scrub newspaper press, tells me that he’s not foreal. Ur gonna state, “Sometimes they get caught with their eyes in the backfield and you can run right by ‘em sometimes” tell all of us that he’s NOT a very Savvy WR nor football player. He watches film, tell me where and when any WRs we have played thus far have “RUN RIGHT BY ’EM” and we’re “WIDE OPEN”. Sheldon Brown does not let the happen, and Asante plays off the WR then closes in on the WR. Thus far, we have NEVER this season, had an opposing teams WRs be wide open.!!!!!

Child Please!

Actually

In the Redskins game Santana Moss was wide open streaking down the field but Cambell didn’t look his way. They showed that replay a couple times don’t know how you missed it. I forget if it was Samuel or Brown but they bit EXTRA hard on playaction.

Thus far, we have NEVER this season, had an opposing teams WRs be wide open.!!!!!

Watched the play again

It was Sheldon Brown 24 who bit on the playaction, would have been a TD for sure if it was any other QB than cambell.

Sheldon Brown does not let the happen

Wrong again. and Eli won’t miss on those opportunities

Alright calm down

Take a breath. Im just waitn for Sunday, so u tryna go “back and forth” wont prove anything. It’s all talk! We need to get on the field and play.

..Can’t help but notice that ur not commenting about my Steve gettin punked comment…well more like FACT! How is he gonna let Rolle take the ball outta his hands like that man! Smith is doin a lot of talkn for a guy who has weak hands. ! That was horrible!

"... You play to win the game. Hello? You play to win the game. You don't play it to just play it. That's the great thing about sports: you play to win..."

You can take cheap shots

at our receivers all day. The truth of the matter is that Eli threw into double coverage and should have never thrown Smiths way on that play.

You base half of your comments on nonsense anyway. Based on Stats, Steve Smith is a better “#1 receiver” than anyone on the Eagles squad right now. Lets compare Smith to Jackson:

D. Jackson – 21 receptions for 423 yards and 4 TD’s
S. Smith – 45 receptions for 594 yards and 4 TD’s

So he’s not a #1 receiver because a DB got position on him on a poor throw? Where’s the logic? Seems our “softie” receiver with “weak hands” is having a better year then your best receiver thus far.

First

U said…

You base half of your comments on nonsense anyway.
Who are u? I dont even know u and ur talkn bout me like we’ve met. Do u come to BGN often let alone everyday like I do. Do u even read my comments if u do. If not, u don’t know what I base my comments on everyday. Today I decided to have fun with it and comment on Smith. Stats are deceiving..your Giants have only 2 sacks the last 2 weeks. Thats a STAT, but we know in reality that the Giants have a really good Defensive front. Another one, Djax as 21 receptions, but we also have a really GOOD te who is LEADING our team in receptions..

"... You play to win the game. Hello? You play to win the game. You don't play it to just play it. That's the great thing about sports: you play to win..."

Sooo

soo.. ur Smith and Djax “numbers” comparison is off cuz our QB likes to spread the ball around. Also u forgot that we had our back-up QB (Kolb) in for 2 weeks. And in those two week, his favorite target was not Djax, it was Brent Celek our TE. Don’t talk about my comments being based off nonsense when u dont know me or what ur talkn about. The comment I made about Smith was NOT a Cheap shot…is was a FACT. Rollie literally ripped the ball away from Smith. Everyone saw it cuz it was a critical part of the game. U need to check what a “cheap shot” is again, cuz u got Fact and Cheap Shot mixed up!

im not saying smith is a bad reciever

but you can’t honestly think smith is a better receiver than jackson

Weapon X eats babies for breakfast.

by immynimmy on Oct 29, 2009 8:04 PM EDT up reply actions

personally those stats Formation27 stated with Jackson vs. Smith mean nothing if the Eagles are spreading the ball around more. Especially if you are including what type of throws they are receiving from Eli and McNabb… Jackson could have more receptions if he was a midget and could catch the dirtballs McNabb has been throwing lately. I don’t care what those stats say – Jackson is better than Smith (also not saying Smith is bad… he’s very good but Jacksons better).

Guess Smith's still salty

He LET Antrel Rolle TAKE THE BALL OUTTA HIS HANDS on the final pass. Freakn softie! How u gonna let a DB take the ball right outta ur hands and u suppose to be a “#1 WR”. He got punked haha….#1 receiver HAAA

Ohp!

Gotta correct myseft…Devin Thomas was Open on the TD play. All the DBs where playin close to the front of the endzone…why idk but that it happened. So i was wrong bout that TD play.!! Glad I got that one

More proof of why I have been saying Sean Jones should be the starting free safety.

Andy Reid has to live with Sunday's reality: He was out coached by Tom Cable. (John Clayton)

The key to this game is going to be who brings the most pressure

Both QBs are struggling HARD with the blitz right now. McNabb has been awful under pressure but Eli was NEVER good when under pressure. So if we can put some points up and get them into some 3rd and longs I like our chances. Our offense HAS to be much better than what it was on monday — has to.

I better be better than Mondays offense, cause I don’t think I can sit through another boring half with no points.
