Jackson Garners Second Weekly Honor of Season

It wasn’t a surprise to hear that the Eagles had one of their players named the NFC conference’s offensive player of the week, seeing that several players had great games last night versus the Washington Redskins. Today, the league announced that Philadelphia WR DeSean Jackson(pictured) earned the weekly award for the best offensive performer after hauling in 69 yards and a TD, as well as rushing for 67 yards and a score.

The honor, which is given out each week to the NFL player who demonstrated the finest offensive performance, is Jackson’s second weekly award of the season; he was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week because of his great returning skills displayed in the Eagles’ opening game against the Panthers. All together, the award is the 2nd-year receiver’s third of the year, though, as he also earned the Special Teams Player of the Month title for September. As long as he continues to play as he is now, don’t expect this to be the last of awards flowing into the Philadelphia organization because of his spectacular performances.

On the season, the sophomore professional has recorded 21 receptions for 423 yards and 3 TDs, to go along with 7 carries (primarily off of trick WR hand-offs) for 115 yards and a score. Besides his offensive talents shown, Jackson has also manned the punt returning role for the Eagles all year, averaging 14.5 yards a run back with an 85-yard scamper for a touchdown coming in Week 1.

As stated before, there are no signs pointing to a slow in awards for Jackson, who looked more explosive than ever last evening when faced up against the rival Redskins, so expect to see more honors come the receiver’s way. The Birds have tended to win when DeSean performs the way we Eagle fanatics witnessed last night, so as long as he continues to shine, hopefully we will too. Congratulations on your latest award, and best of luck in the future games, #10!

It’s gonna suck in a couple of years when the birds don’t offer him ridiculous money and he ends up being a cowboy.JMO
(I hope this doesn’t happen but the writing is on the wall).

I thank God almost everyday that I wasn't born in Dallas!

Love Desean

Not only did he account for over half of our offensive yards and 2 touchdowns, but I was down 20 points in fantasy football and ended up winning my game. Knew he was gonna be something special as soon as we drafted him out of Cal so i got his jersey last year and have not been disappointed.
