"I stuck my hand out and he didn't reach back for it and I looked at his eyes and he was just sleeping," Herremans said. "I immediately called for someone to come out. Stuff like that happens. It's a physical game. It was one of my more scary moments."
Todd Herremans talks about the moment when Brian Westbrook was hurt last night.

I was at the game and man it was terrible when he was just laying there
Some jackass Redskin fan yells at the top of his lungs, “I hope he dies!… and his mother too!”
I couldnt believe that. I know the story about michael irvin, but there is just ZERO sense in a comment like that.

completely agree. There were jackass’s like that screaming stuff too. I was scared though – watching him lay there and not move for what seemed like forever.. bad.. very bad.

Every fanbase has their a-holes, but of course in the eyes of the national media only Philly fans would do such a thing. This is what is making the problem worse, not better.

yup
you are jackass.
however there is a different between wanting him to be out for the season vs. Dead or paralyzed for life.
Football ends after 10 or 15 years. Life goes on after that. Its totally ludicrous to wish life long physical harm on somebody

I agree
Im a jackass.
But when it is serious, such as dead or paralyzed its not too funny anymore.
And life does go on after football, which is an important thing to remember, its just a game.

Football IS lifelong physical harm
Just look at the stats bro. Average cognitive capacity is lower. Life expectancy is like 10 years lower.

Nope
The US is turning into Europe in terms of provinciality and rooting for our teams, and hatred for neighboring states/cities.

I heard the same stuff at the game. It doesn’t matter what team you cheer for there will always be a few jerks.

Yeah i actually lost it and started getting into it with a couple of them
Security actually came up and told the one guy to sit down and shut up.
I had to laugh at the fact that one of them used the justification that it was ok because we booed michael irvin. What an idiot.
I DID NOT, AND WOULD NOT HAVE BOOED MICHAEL IRVIN

I DID NOT, AND WOULD NOT HAVE BOOED MICHAEL IRVIN
I would not have booed Michael Irvin or any player for that matter when he/they was/were injured but I will and have certainly booed Michael Irvin.

Yeah there was definitely a rowdy crowd there but no one talked shit to me. I think they knew better! :-)
I thought it was dumb that security had to come to tell people to sit down when some of them were standing but quietly watching the game. How can you tell someone to sit down as long as they aren’t causing any problems? That was the case with a few people around me. If you wore Green… someone was going to complain you were standing. Pathetic.

I was watching the game from my living room and there was an image of one of our players standing by Westbrook praying and crying. Anybody else see that? Or know who it was? I couldn’t tell. When I saw that my heart sank, I thought he’d been paralyzed!

jason avant..
"Eagles fans are a passionate group who love their team," said McNabb, "if not the actual players. It's not like winning a Super Bowl before the first month of the season is the hardest thing they've ever asked of me. That'd be all those times they asked me to go kill myself."

When one of the Skins lineman was down with an injury late Avant was the only player standing there from either team.
His heart must be enormous.

I saw that, too
very nice. I love that we have quality character individuals on our team. Isn’t it amazing how much harder you cheer for a guy like that? I cheer all the Eagles, even the OL who will not be named, but when you know the dude is quality, they get a little something extra. Avant and Maclin are my 2 favorites like that.
Like Dawkins somewhat recently, when he was saying how happy he was for another player when that other player got a big contract. Good stuff.

I've never seen anything like that from anybody, in any sport before.
Avant is way more emotional than I thought. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Seriously I’ve never seen anything like that, I thought it was over for Westy. Shit freaked me out.
Thanks for the tip guys! Much appreciated!
