Eagles among buyers at deadline
Posted: October 20th, 2009 | Jason La Canfora
After spending the better part of 24 hours texting, e-mailing and calling people around the league, my enthusiasm for an unusually active trade deadline is waning.
It just doesn’t seem like there is a whole lot cooking. A lot of talk but not much action, which is the norm. There will be a few deals for sure, and there’s always a surprise out there, but I’m not sure it’s going to be blockbuster city. (Not that I ever was, but you’re always hoping for interesting stories and developments, and who doesn’t like trade talk?)
Anyway, the Eagles, Patriots and Ravens are among the teams looking to be buyers, while the Chiefs, Bucs and Raiders are among those most interested in selling. After the season-ending injury to NT Kris Jenkins, the high-spending Jets are looking at options, and I’d rate Chiefs DT Glenn Dorsey as someone who they have at least a slim chance of acquiring. While Cleveland DE Corey Williams is generating some interest, the Browns continue to rebuff all overtures for Josh Cribbs (and the calls have continued to come).
The Rams have received calls on RB Steven Jackson but are adamant about not trading him, according to a league source. But franchise-tender safety O.J. Atogwe might be worth an interested team making a call on.
As I reported Sunday morning on “NFL GameDay Morning,” the Bills are steadfast that they have no interest in trading WR Terrell Owens. As of Monday, only one team had called, with only cursory interest (the club called Buffalo about another player and then inquired briefly about Owens’ availability at the end of the call, according to a source).
But, we’ll see. Still a few hours to go, and maybe we get something meaty before the 4 p.m. ET deadline.

I would wet my pants if the Eagles traded for Atogwe. Derrick Johnson is #2 on my wish list. Defensive end, third.
Andy Reid needs to go. 36-32-1 (2005-present) Oakland game is unacceptable.

Yeah, OJ would be nice, but probably way too pricey for a guy where we have a lot of depth at his position.
I rank my wish list like this…
1 – Kamerion Wimbley, 2 – Derrick Johnson, 3 – Antwan Barnes

I still believe macho can do the job

I agree. I think he’s been pretty good so far, especially for a rookie.

Kamerion has been pretty much a bust on the Browns so im not so sure about him. I think Macho has done a pretty good job. Barnes may not be that bad, but we don’t get I really just don’t see that much of him.

He has 32 tackles and 4 sacks so far this year.

Well in that case
I don’t think they’ll be that quick to get rid of him since he’s already put up better stats than the rest of his years. But like I stated earlier, I don’t see the Eagles moving though.

Who on Earth would trade for Terrell Owens?
If you think about it logically, if some other team wanted him for the salary that Buffalo gave him, I’m sure they could have easily beaten out the Bills for his services during free agency.
And since that time, he has underperformed, plus now you have to give up something to get him.

If Dick can pull that off, he should get a medal and an extension.

Not to sound negative
But I don’t expect anything except to be disappointed as usual.
