No Arms Asante

How many tackles did Asante NOT make? It appears that if he is not able to try to make an interception, his tackling ability is non-existent. Every time he launches himself head-first in the general direction of the ball carrier.....and either misses entirely or slides off to the side. How much is he getting paid again??? It looks lke Oakland took the time to review THOSE tapes.

I joke about that all the time. Asante only trys to cut the legs out when he tackles people. Divison teams are going to pick up on this and just automatically jump when they see 22 coming.

Sheldon Brown is wayy better.

idgaf.....

yeah sheldon is no doubt the better fit 4 the eagles but its hilarious that people would complain about havin Samuel, ok his tackling sucks but u gotta take the good with the bad, the guy has 4 picks and is tied for 2nd in the league, u kno everybody is gonna be ridin his jock again after he brings one back 2 the house against the skins.

Thank God

It is about time people are starting to figure this out…this has been going on all season!

When is the media and coaches going to get on him about his tackeling? He needs to be benched until he learns, and if he can’t learn, cut or traded. The “easy” interceptions he does provide are not worth what we are giving up on the tackling front.

I sincerely hope the media starts to get onto this and blows it up b/c the coaching staff seems too inexperienced and scared to put him in his place.

sober up..............

hahahaha yeah ok pal lets trade or cut Asante and let Hanson start in his place, then he can hope for him to make game-changing plays. Gotta take the good with the bad. Its way better we have asante than not have him. Tho he played shitty hes not the main reason we lost this game, if we had just kept up a steady pace of west and mccoy people wouldnt even be talkin this.

he never tackles with his arms

he’s always tackled with his head. it’s just what he does.

He has always just thrown his body at he ball carrier! He has ALWAYS dived at their legs.

I have picked up on this since the Pats vs Eagles Superbowl. My boyz and I were laugh’n at him night that day! At first we thought he was tryna take out T.O. on purpose!!

Then after that game into the next season, we noticed that he always tries to cut the ball carriers legs from under him.

I has NUTT’N to do with “Being injured”! If u don’t believe it and the coaches don’t fix his tackling technique…U’ll be seeing it REAL SOON!!!!!!!!

DB's did well.....

I agree Eagleswin….I’d like to see those criticizing Samuels play hurt. Maybe I was watching a different game, but I saw the DB’s make some good hits. It is true that there were some missed tackles….not just by Samuels but by a whole host of others. The defense played well enought for us to win. The goal of the defense has always to keep the opponent from scoring more that 17 points. Our offense has always been known for putting up the numbers, but yesterday the offense looked sad….really sad. I would have liked to see them stick more to the running game. It seemed like when they came out after the half the running game was working but then they abandoned it. Why?? Hell if I know…….lol. Also, what seemsto be part of the history of the Eagles, they always have one game a year where they play like crap. Had on last year when Donovan was pulled. And the year before and the year before. Why? Hell if I know….lol, but it happens. Hopefully it won’t happen again, but the OL has got to give Donovan better protection….if not, we could be in for a loooooong season. But I’m still very hopeful. Goooooooooo Eagles……………..

I think its a shame we lost to the Oakland Faiders

We always have one or two games a season where we play like exspansion team.Hell dont forget about last season versus the Ravens or Bengals….I dont blame the defense they played good enough to win……

Asante is a very good CB in this league. I love the addition of him to our team. His signing payed off big time in last years playoffs. He had two crucial INTS!!!

I can’t say he can’t tackle?? WTF? Dude can play. He just really sucks at run support or tackling. It is funny that some people have just noticed this. He did that shit in NE too.

How is Asante hurt? What injury is he playing with that doesn’t affect his ability to be in position to intercept balls, but does affect his ability to wrap up when he tackles?

I’m not saying that he cost us the game, all I’m saying is that McD doesn’t have the balls to get after him, so unless the media stops drooling over his interceptions and realizes how much he is actually costing this team, nothing will change!

I understand he has been doing this for a while, but it needs to stop. And I would be saying this even if we won, b/c I have been seeing it for so long and can’t keep it in anymore.
