Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

Why I am not worried...

First off let me say that I am just as pist off about yesterdays game as the rest of you. Maybe even a little more so. I live overseas and had to stay up until almost 2am to watch that horrid game. But I do know this...every year the same thing happens. The Birds come out against a team we should roll and find a way to hand them the game. Andy is always going to pass first. At a couple times a year he will pass first, second, and third. Way too many 3rd and 10+ today. But the fact of the matter is this happens every year and every year we still see the Eagles in the playoffs challenging for a title. I am glad this happened against the Raiders. We have three straight divisional games coming up that the Eagles need to win. Would you have rather we laid an egg against the Redskins? If people are honest with themselves they realize this needed to happen to us for the team to get it's head out of it's @$$ and start playing good football. That is why this team is great in November and December every year... we take an unimaginable loss to a horrible team and turn it into momentum. Eagles will still be a 10-6 or 11-5 team and they will still make the playoffs. Furthermore I wouldn't be surprised at all if we take these next three games to jump on top of the NFC East. Keep it together guys 1 game doesn't make a season.

Thank you for the comment. Much needed today and so true. Hopefully this will be our only bomb. Maybe the rookies learned something yesterday

nice too see someone with a positive spin on this…
im a little more calm now that its been a day or so…

+1. We could afford to lose a game to an AFC team. Would have been a nice win.

But definately a not needed win. Its actually a well placed loss, just before the Redskins game. So Andy will hopefully gather the troops and make them hungry again.

My only fear is the competition this year

We usually take for granted that 2nd place in the NFC East is a guaranteed wild-card spot. This year though, we could EASILY see the wild-cards come from the North and South.

We really might have to win the division to see the post-season, and that’s not going to happen if we don’t win the ‘easy’ ones.

"What did it feel like? That collision, I didn't feel nothing, because he was pretty much defenseless. It was like running through a cardboard box. Seriously. Cardboard box."- Sheldon Brown on his pounding of Reggie Bush in the '06 Playoffs

TOTALLY agree and this is probably the worst part of yesterday.

The one bright spot on that note is...

We haven’t played ANY divisional games yet. The East is still up in the air as of now.

Good luck to you sir, what you do is a lot more important than football.

Yeah this is pretty annual cronic thing

I’m not worried because we have had games like this and still have made the playoffs. My big problem with this game is it keeps showing the same things we have been saying like “We need a LB” and questioning Andy’s play calling. Its like we are always just short by player and Reid decides to address it too late. Thats my player.

same senario**

every season it seems like we fuck up against a shit team. for some reason i was not that suprised we lost. the offenensive line looked like a bunch of elderly women and mcnabb looked like he normally does. if we lose to the redskins i might just go insane

Totally agree

This was a wake up game. We will come out re-enregized and at our best. Lets all chill out here.

Let's get it.

Thats the number of backup offensive linemen that played the majority of the game yesterday. With the Andrews bums, Todd and Peters all out, Im not worried either, as long was we start getting people back (not Shawn obviously).
