Donovan Mcnabb: One of The Best Ever

These are stats and highlights before the 2008 season. He is still adding to his legacy. Mcnabb is always regarded as a top ten QB in the league every year but he deserves to be in the talks for one of the best to ever play the game. I didn't know a few of his accolades from this page so I thought I'd share this with you guys. It also has his 4th quarter comebacks which was heavily discussed/argued in a previous post a couple weeks back. Madden 10 was right with 11 comebacks(This is for that member who was mocking that I got that stat from a videogame) We are lucky to have such a great quarterback in Mcnabb, who sometimes gets over looked and does not get the praise and recognition he deserves. I hope he gets us that first Super Bowl ring and nobody else. He should be a Hall of Famer and hope he retires an Eagle.

• Oct. 24, 2004 at Cle. ... after the Browns scored a late TD to send the game into OT, both teams traded punts to begin the extra period. The Eagles used a 28-yd. scramble by McNabb, 18 yds. rushing by Levens and 18 yds. receiving by Reno Mahe to set up a David Akers 50-yd. game-winning FG
• Jan. 11, 2004 vs. GB ... in the NFC Divisional Playoff game, led the Eagles back from a 14-0 deficit in the 1st qtr. With 2:21 remaining, he took over at the Eagles own 20-yard line and began a dramatic game-tying drive, which included a miraculous 4th-n-26 completion to Freddie Mitchell to keep the drive alive. David Akers would later nail a 37-yd. FG to send the game into OT and then hit a 31-ydr. to win it
• Nov. 10, 2003 at GB ... orchestrated a memorable two-minute drill to defeat the Packers on MNF at Lambeau Field. Down 14-10 with 2:43 remaining, he drove the Eagles 65 yds. in 8 plays which culminated in a 6-yd. TD pass to Todd Pinkston

• Oct. 22, 2001 at NYG ... engineered a last-minute scoring drive on Monday Night Football to win, 10-9. Trailing 9-3 with just under 2 minutes left, McNabb found James Thrash in the right corner of the end zone for the winning 18-yd. TD pass
• Dec. 3, 2000 vs. Ten. ... led the Eagles on an 8-play, 77-yd. drive late in the 4th qtr. to give them a 13-12 lead. A last second 50-yd. FG by Al Del Greco gave the Titans the win
• Nov. 26, 2000 at Was. ... gained 125 yards rushing, leading to a 23-20 win. His highlight-film 21-yd. TD run saw him race by DE Bruce Smith, juke S Mark Carrier, and drag S Matt Stevens into the end zone. He also had a career-long 54-yd. scamper to set up the game-winning FG late in the 4th qtr.
• Nov. 12, 2000 at Pit. ... Down 23-13 with 3:26 to play, again orchestrated a comeback, OT victory for the 2nd straight week as he was 12 of 18 passing for 106 yards and 1 TD in the 4th qtr. and OT in leading the Eagles to a 26-23 win
• Nov. 5, 2000 vs. Dal. ... in a 16-13, come-from-behind win, led a two-minute drive late in the 4th qtr. to tie the game and withstood an INT in overtime to lead the Eagles to the GW FG

Best Ever?

I wouldn’t go that far. He’s definitely quite the talent and makes plays only few QBs can make but he’s not the best ever. He’s too inaccurate on short throws, doesn’t lead WRs very well, and can’t squeeze the balls into tight coverage as well as other QBs can. There was also a long period of time when he held onto the ball too long trying to make something happen. He’s come up short in a lot of big games (Tampa Bay, Super Bowl, and more recently the last CG). He needs a ring in order to get into the SB

the losing of the last CG

was squarely on the D’s shoulder. wasn’t it mcnabb who brought us back from a 3 possession defecit?

and if he needs a ring to get into the SB, how can he get a ring?

RIP Jim Johnson. You will truly be missed.

Good post route36.

I think McNabb is always underrated and never gets the respect he deserves. He is, IMO, a lock for the HOF. I don’t get the debate over whether or not he makes it into Canton. Fran Tarkenton, Dan Fouts, Dan Marino, Y.A. Tittle & Warren Moon all made the Hall without ever winning a title. Why is it so far fetched that he can’t make it without a SB title??

Forgot...

Jim Kelly and Sonny Jurgensen also failed to win a title game.

numbers

Your numbers for mcnabb are wrong man. Def. gotta fix that.

"Eagles fans are a passionate group who love their team," said McNabb, "if not the actual players. It's not like winning a Super Bowl before the first month of the season is the hardest thing they've ever asked of me. That'd be all those times they asked me to go kill myself."

These are stats and highlights before the 2008 season

It’s from philadelphiaeagles.com

why would you have the stats before the 2008 season?

when you could have the stats after the 2008 season???…its 2009. Why show stats that are a year old. Would have been that hard to update mcnabbs stats? Just sounds lazy to me.

"Eagles fans are a passionate group who love their team," said McNabb, "if not the actual players. It's not like winning a Super Bowl before the first month of the season is the hardest thing they've ever asked of me. That'd be all those times they asked me to go kill myself."

Don’t you understand? This is a page from philadelphiaeagles.com
Do you know how much math I would have to do to update all those stats and info above?
If it’s bothering you that much, you do it.

seriously

hahaha…bothering me, no…do i think its still dumb to have posted old stats, YES. Are you serious w/ the math?…what math, you look at all the 2009 stats and switch them. Wow, that would take soooo long. Everyone but peyton, favre, brady and mcnabbs stats arn’t changing anyway. What was the point of puttin up a post bout stats from a year ago. I dont care where you got it, it’s OLD NEWS.

"Eagles fans are a passionate group who love their team," said McNabb, "if not the actual players. It's not like winning a Super Bowl before the first month of the season is the hardest thing they've ever asked of me. That'd be all those times they asked me to go kill myself."

wow…big deal. It’s one year. The post was to show all his accomplishments until 2008-09 season, not NEWS. I was comparing him to the all-time greats. One year’s stats would not have made a huge difference. I didn’t see anyone else complaining. Change your tampon.

complaining?

I’m not complaining bout shit, i merely said it was pointless…you’re the one that’s arguing back at me, so why don’t you remove your tampon.

it has him behind jaws, he’s passed jaws on the eagles list. that right there is kind of an important milestone.

mcnabb is awful!!!!

can’t believe anyone would actually consider mcnabb even mediocre… stats mean nothing… its results and mcnabb can/t deliver… not in the past… not now… not ever… he’s the greg norman of football… all swagger and no substance

I’m on the fence with whether this is a joke or not so I’m just going to go ahead and assume it is sarcasm.

I think he is serious bro...

This is another comment of his.

I do know this!!!!
d mac is dreadful…. he’s the greg norman of the nfl…. he has a glass psyche…all swagger and no substance…. andy reid is the /worst field marshall in the league… he can’t manage three timeouts….let alone get his team ready to play….on top of that his draft record (mcdougle…. simon… andrews… pinkston… mitchell…. mcnabb…. etc. is horrible… head cases and losers… the fact that he had picked some good players is more dumb luck than anything else)…. vick is a thug and contributes nothing… luire is a complete idiot…. any fool would have gotten rid of reid and mcnabb long ago… he either likes losing or just doesn’t care because the money just keeps rolling in… at least we have the fightn’s….

He has to be JIBTA’s twin brother.
