Animal rights group plans Vick protest in Oakland
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP)—A Bay Area animal rights group is planning a protest against Michael Vick(notes) before his game against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. The group In Defense of Animals says it will protest outside Oakland Coliseum before Vick plays his first road game for the Philadelphia Eagles since being reinstated to the NFL following an 18-month prison sentence for his involvement in a dogfighting ring. The group says Vick has not shown proper remorse.
IDA president Elliot Katz also wrote a letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell asking that dogfighting and cockfighting be specifically included in the “criminal offense” section of the league’s Personal Conduct Policy.
I found this a little interesting considering I hadn't heard about any actual protests about Vick with good turnouts or media attention.

Agreed
I was at the Chiefs game and there were a handful of protesters on the corner outside. Thankfully they were staying far away enough from the entrance that I didn’t have to deal with any of them.
Pain heals. Chicks dig scars. Glory... lasts forever.
who will take the bet that protesters out number Oakland fans 10-1?

shockingly enough though...
i was actually looking at going to this game at one point because i thought i was going to be in cali this week. (im not now), but anyway im shocked how expensive tickets on ebay and craigslist are considering how terrible they are
On a side note, anyone interested in making a trip to Fedex next monday night? If washington loses to KC, which i think they will, those tickets for the eagles game will be dirt cheap. Last year i went to the late december game at fedex and paid $20 total for two tickets.
Brent Celek is the man
of course they are protesting
Nobodys going to the game, what else do they have to do?

What could they possibly protest about?
Raiders fans are gay.
Cockfighting is legal...
in Puerto Rico a territory of the United States. I have personally attended a cock fight, which was a unique experience. There is no way that this group could add cock fighting to “criminal offense” section of the leagues Personal Conduct Policy.

I’m going to be there and I will laugh my ass off at them. There just ridiculous protesting a man’s right to have a career
Rookie: "Why did you bench me?"
Nellie: "Your a rookie"
The China People
Eat Dogs… Where’s the outrage? At least those in the pic up there can now use all that Mary Kay shit on their face to hide their true identities of being raiders fans.
Where Does It End?
Exactly how remorseful do these animal rights groups want Mike Vick to be? I’m an animal lover myself, and an owner of a terrific dog, but let’s not forget that Michael received one of the harshest sentences ever handed down for a crime of this sort, and he kept his head down and did his time like a man. Just because he’s not going the usual NFL bullshit route of disingenuously blubbering like a jilted schoolgirl on camera doesn’t mean he isn’t remorseful. That’s just not the kind of man he is. If it’s taking in shelter dogs the groups want, he’s most likely been prohibited from doing so. Finally, though he doesn’t deserve credit for this, his case has actually helped animal rights groups by shedding a vast amount of light on the abhorrent practice of dogfighting. Through his ordeal, animal activists have been able to increase public awareness of dogfighting through the media, and hopefully law enforcement agents countrywide will be cracking down. But here’s the reality: he paid his debt to society, he’s apologized (and I think it’s genuine), and he’s been reinstated. He’s just trying to move on with his life, and goddammit, so should the rest of society.
Tony Romo...why so serious?
P.S.
I know that I’m beating a horse that, if not dead, is at this moment in mortal danger of expiring, but there better be some protestors when Donte Stallworth comes back. He killed a human being while driving drunk and high…where’s the outrage over that?
