The Morning After: Eagles Week Five Injury Report
After a satisfying romp against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it's time once again to take a look at the damages incurred during Sunday's game. Thankfully, the only player likely to miss time is reserve cornerback Dimitri Patterson, who suffered a quad strain. Patterson has just returned from a broken wrist and is now unlikely to travel to Oakland next week while he rehabs. With all the time Patterson has missed so far, it is possible the Eagles could be looking at other options for their fifth cornerback slot this week, especially after Sheldon Brown suffered an abdominal strain and is now listed as day-to-day.
On a positive note, Todd Herremans continues to recover from his foot injury. Last week, Herremans said that he hoped to play against Oakland this coming Sunday, so we'll continue to follow his progress this week.
Kevin Curtis will still need to rest for a few days due to knee inflammation. With Jeremy Maclin's stellar performance this week, though, Curtis better watch his back or he will lose his starting position.
Brent Celek, Ellis Hobbs, Asante Samuel, and Donovan McNabb all sustained minor injuries during the game, but none are expected to miss any playing time because of it. For the record though, that makes four out of five cornerbacks that were injured this Sunday. Don't be surprised if the Eagles test the free agent market a bit or consider promoting Jack Ikegwuonu from the practice squad.

The kid has been through a lot. The worst of which was not the threat of prison, but instead it was that wack job, JIBTA, following him around with bunch of poodles. A good lawyer (for the restraining order) and some practice time, and the Iguana may be ready to hit the big time. It would be nice to see.
