Cowboys have released Adam 'Pacman' Jones
The Dallas Cowboys announced the release of cornerback Adam Jones today. The transaction will be made official on February 9th which is the first day that NFL clubs are allowed to make waiver requests.
Because of the in-season suspension, the Cowboys will receive the Titans' fifth-round pick, and they will also gain $1 million in salary cap space for 2009. Had Jones made it through the season without getting in trouble, the Cowboys would have had to send a sixth-round pick to the Titans this year to complete the trade.
The Cowboys signed Jones to a four-year, $13.3 million deal after the trade, however, it did not include any guaranteed money.

i mean, if they are starting a downward spiral...
this is definetly a positive move, honestly if they kept him, that franchise would have lost the little respect it currently has

Yeah this is a positive more for them.
Not just because he’s a bad guy… but because frankly, he sucks. The guy is a shell of his former self

If I knew anything about computers...
I’d insert that audio clip from the Pacman video game – GAME OVER!!! (for him, that is. Who knows how it will affect their team – probably not much at all)

i see it as a too sided thing
on the good side- they lose a HUUUGE locker room disruption who cant keep; himself out of trouble
on the other hand- his is talented as a player, they are weak in the CB position
The way i see it is that they lose talent on the field but win in the locker room
To me the Eagles are like that girlfriend that pisses u off, then u hate her, but the next morning you wake up and remember that thing u love so much about her

honestly..
they need help in the locker room, cause they have a good amount of talent on the field (not a LOT like everyone is saying)

I wish they’d kept him. He was a big help to the Eagles 2 weeks ago.
I wonder if I can bill Jeff Lurie and Peter Angelos for the years of therapy their teams are going to put me through.

My favorite Pacman memory is when he said “Dude, they played the Rams” after we destroyed the Rams. My second favorite memory is when he was suspended and couldn’t even help his team get their asses handed to them by the Rams.

My favorite Pacman memories are when he fumbled the kickoff and the Eagles got 3 free points right before halftime, and when he “made it rain” penalty flags with his personal foul on Reggie Brown, setting up an Eagles TD.
Thanks for the 10 points, Pac.

And there’s no strip clubs or alcohol in Philly, so I’m sure he’d be a model citizen.

The sad thing about a thug like Pac Man
is that our kids watch his every move via ESPN. As long as a guy like him can continue to thumb his nose at morality there are teens who will get the impression that the way to stardom is down that path. It gives them the worst kind of role model possible.
Canning this guy was absolutely the right thing to do. Of course a new chapter is just around the corner since now there are stories about Vick coming to Dallas.
As for Pac Man, a year or two from now, he will be rotting in jail for one thing or another.

He was reinstinated
on good faith that he’d turned a leaf. so now he has to pay for something he may or may not have done BEFORE this good faith occured? there’s not alot of information about the atlanta incident. the APD arent even invesigating actively.
by DeafJesse on Jan 8, 2009 9:38 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
He’s had plenty of arrests to turn over a new leaf already, and he hasn’t.
Let’s not pretend Jerry Jones hasn’t historically enabled guys like Michael Irvin to STAB his teammates in the neck and let them continue playing.
by JGCarraway on Jan 8, 2009 9:49 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Oh come on… flesh wound… flesh would… it’s not as if Irvin grabbed a pair of scissors and lodged them in the poor bastard’s neck… sheesh..
oh wait… ummm… yeah, nevermind that last part… continue on
But T.O. and his sideline histrionics wear on a quarterback. He's like the hot stripper you tried to clean up and convert into a real girlfriend. It's a lot of fun until the moment she has her second drink while out to eat with your parents. You unravel quicker than she does.

Yeah, I think this was all about football and the Atlanta thing is an excuse. If Pacman’s on-field performance had lived up to Jerry’s expectations, I bet he’d still be there.
I think cutting him is a good move for Dallas, which is why I’m not happy about it! (Unless the Giants sign him)

maybe he’ll end up in Cincy? I think he’d fit in nicely
ie Chris Henry, Cedric Benson…. :-D

Sometimes its easy to forget
that they are human beings. Pacman Jones, above being a Cowboy (ex-Cowboy, actually), is a human being and nobody should ill wish towards others. It’s just bad karma and it just ain’t right.
by DeafJesse on Jan 8, 2009 5:58 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Strawman.
I don’t think anyone wished Pacman ill will in this thread.
People are just calling what they think will happen to him given his unchanging actions in life to this point.
People are just sick of the Dallas Divas that think they can get away with everything short of murder and their enablers.
by JGCarraway on Jan 8, 2009 6:44 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
While I don't wish ill on him,
there is a man (in Las Vegas) who will spend the rest of his life in a wheel chair, as a direct result of Jones’ behavior. There are hundreds of women who have been denigrated by this “human”. There are undoubtedly countless disgusting displays of bad behavior that we’ll never hear of.
If you look at how life has come back and bit this man in the ass, after having been given opportunities that most of us can only dream of, THAT, my friend is a classic example of Karma.
You reap what you sow, and his field is overrun with the weeds of selfishness, cruelty, and megalomania.

Don't for one moment think....
….this move has anything to do with morals or Jerry all of a sudden getting a conscious. If you watched the Dallas games, it was a footrace between Roy Williams and Pacman for who was the worst pick-up for the Cowgirls this year. Pacman obviosuly spent too much time playing grab-ass at the Men’s Club in Dallas and not enough time working on drop steps and lateral movement.
Jerry Jones has no motivation other than the mighty $$$. If Pacman had any talent left, Jerry would buy him his own strip club and he’d still be on the team. See “Tank Johnson” for further reference.
