Stewart Bradley: One reason I'm excited about Sunday
Bradley is an exciting player, and if the Eagles go far in the playoffs, he could very well become the star of the defense this year. There is a good but brief writeup of him over at Football Outsiders http://footballoutsiders.com/cover-3/2009/cover-3-divisional-playoff-edition-0
Here they detail the work Bradley did against Jacobs in Week 14. Although Jacobs had a good day, Bradley held his own, and showed some of the flash which makes this Eagles defense so good, possibly the best Jim Johnson ever coached. I predict that as Philly fans wake up to how really, really good this kid is, they'll start to wear his shirts, and start to call into the shows about him. As fast and strong as he is, he could very well have a monster game Sunday, and be the key to the game.

i've actually got mine ordered
dude’s gonna be good.
When they should be sacrifice bunting, they are buying effeminate designer jeans. When they should be fouling off pitches, they are masturbating. Always, they are masturbating.

a ReSign is what scares me ...
he has at least 4 years left in his tank IMO, being a Marine i cant tell you much of its mind over body … and with the wisdom he has hes going 200k miles more on his engine before he starts smoking … maybe he doesn’t know his decision to stay or not , which i highly doubt (next year) maybe he wants to be there for his daughters to see them grow up … all of these could be factors because this man as yet to be a football championship at any caliber , ANY … pop warner highschool college … never… for him to be wearing a Superbowl ring would be the the equivalent of receiving my Bootcamp graduation ring that symbolizes what i went through and accomplished to be a Marine.

Bradley
I remember when he was drafted; on the Inquirer front page they had a blurb that the Patriots were devastated because they wanted him. And the Patriots generally know what they’re talking about with linebackers…
And it’s worth mentioning that we got Bradley via that trade with Dallas…suckers…

the chris canty trade?
oh, wait, was it the kevin kolb one?

Kolb
They got: Anthony Spencer
We got: Kolb, Bradley and C.J. Gaddis
Of course, Dallas got an additional first rounder from the Browns in ’08 for Brady Quinn. But still, I think our specific trade worked out better for us.
by ajay on Jan 7, 2009 8:56 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
They didn’t get an additional first rounder. They traded their 07 1st for the Browns 08 1st.
(1st rounder) Anthony Spencer – 22 tackles, 12 assists, 1.5 sacks
(2nd rounder) Victor Abiamiri – 5 tackles, 6 assists, 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 3 passes defensed
Not bad from our perspective.
Its funny, the Cowboys don’t have a single 1st or 2nd or 3rd or 4th round pick starting since the 2005 draft out of 11 picks and have already cut 2 guys. The Eagles have 4 starters (Bunkley, Gocong, Bradley, Jackson) in 15 picks and have only cut 1 guy.
What a waste by our rivals!

I cant take it
Look I dont know if Bradley is going to be good or not .From what ive seen so far im a little concerned. But can we all just put aside Eagle- NFL propaganda and let him accually do something first before we make him the next coming of ray lewis.

JACKASS
YES I guess I am a jackass because I believe what i see and dont let others tell me what to think. You on the otherhand are the smart intelligent one who lets others with an agenda tell u what to think and who to like. I mean after all if Peter King says its so then in must be Right. By the way who the hell is Peter King anyway?

Bradley is a great player
Just because Peter King says Stew Bradley is nice and puts him on his All-Pro team everyone starts talking about him. I am not saying that Stew isn’t above average player and our best backer; JD 1 is right, Stew hasn’t changed entire games with his play all year or anything like that(Yet).
He has been playing at a really high level for a 2nd year player and he looks like he is going to be the real deal.
Peter King just shined a little more light on him than I feel he is deserving of at this moment.

Does it matter
Who cares who he picks. does that make Bradley any better or worse because of it. Its guys like King’s job to schill and keep the publics interest in the NFL . Its no more that public relations . Watch the games and decide for yourself .
by JD 1 on Jan 8, 2009 7:31 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
So if someone
offered u a truckload of money to do King’s job, you would say “No because Its guys like King’s job to schill and keep the publics interest in the NFL . Its no more that public relations . Watch the games and decide for yourself .”? Please.

HUH?
I have no idea what your point is Jesse?
by JD 1 on Jan 9, 2009 9:19 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
Point is
These guys get paid alot to write for magazines that people like me subscribe to. And most of us would KILL to have that job. I know I’d rather make “pro bowl picks” for a living rather than sit at the front desk of Gallaudet University’s commuter lounge all day.
by DeafJesse on Jan 9, 2009 11:49 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
If someone asked me
to be paid to write my opinions, which everyone including King is entitled to, I’d say yes in a heartbeat and so would you. so why bash King for having a job we all envy?
by DeafJesse on Jan 9, 2009 11:51 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
You made my point
I didnt bash king, i guess i bashed the guy who using kings article to tell me that bradley is this great player .I was pointing out that king has an agenda.Has nothing to do with money hell if it werent for the nfl king might accually have to go out and get a real job. I think he would make a great waiter myself. If u like Bradley then fine but state things he has done not what some highly paid cheerleader has written or picked him for some bogus all star team.. Most eagles fans have seen more plays that Bradleys been in in 1 game than peter king has seen all season .At least i know i have. Ive seen him play well and not so well and what i havent seen is a guy thats has come up big when its been needed ala Brian Dawkins.
by JD 1 on Jan 9, 2009 12:50 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
I do see your point
But Peter King spends 8, 12 hours a day thinking about this. I think if I spent that much time thinking about the NFL, as a full time job, I’d have strong opinions about things such as if Bradley should be on “my” list of “all-stars.”
by DeafJesse on Jan 9, 2009 9:56 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Yup
Doesn’t everyone know that most “Sports media guys” are idiots? I mean who really cares what or who they say is great? If they were soo smart they would be winning much more in Vegas than they do making up All Star Teams and writing propaganda. I totally agree with JD 1.
I can list 20 retards that make their living on their fast talking and self pontification skills…
