Andrews and Abiamiri cleared to practice

Having been missing since week 2, Shawn Andrews has finally been medically cleared to practice, although don't expect to see him this weekend.

Injured players Shawn Andrews and Victor Abiamiri were medically cleared to practice Wednesday.

Andrews, a two-time Pro Bowl guard, has been cleared by his doctors and will practice Wednesday for the first time since sustaining a back injury in Week 2 at Dallas. But, as head coach Andy Reid noted, Andrews will not be active for Sunday's divisional playoff game against the Giants.

"We're not going to force anything there or do anything ridiculous," Reid said. "We'll gradually work him in and see how he feels. We'll see what he can do day-to-day."

Abiamiri missed the lat two games with a Lisfranc sprain and had really started to come on in the second half of the year.

Hmm

I think getting Abiamiri back is huge.

On that note, question: Abiamiri is often compared to Justin Tuck. Valid or not valid? Keep in mind, Tuck had 1 sack his first two years. So forget about production thus far cause Abiamiri is younger. Is the comparison still valid?

Well, they get compared because they’re both from Notre Dame. They can both play inside and out…

I certainly hope he develops into Justin Tuck!

Yeah

They are both similarly-sized too, at around 6’ 5" and 275. I too hope he turns into another Tuck…

Smart Move

I know there was some debate here earlier in the week on whether or not Andrews should play. I think this is the right approach. The line has played fairly well and Nick Cole is coming into his own—why tinker with it now?

Abiamiri would be a boost to the line. Parker has been playing well, but the Eagles could use Abiamiri’s size against a bruising back like Jacobs.

i think Andrews will be usedas a injury backup 4 the rest of playoffs

just incase anyone onthe right side goes down, then we have Andrews to fill in….not a bad backup if i say so myself

To me the Eagles are like that girlfriend that pisses u off, then u hate her, but the next morning you wake up and remember that thing u love so much about her

if we get Abiamiri back for sunday that’ll be huge
that being said, i love how our DE’s (along with the rest of the defense obviously) are playing
Cole, Abiamiri, Parker and Clemons = great eagles football
