Did you know?

Brad Childress' son works for the Eagles as a video assistant? Childress spent 4 seasons as the Eagles offensive coordinator before getting the Vikings head job. He and Raven's coach John Harbaugh are both former Andy Reid assistants and both have coached their teams to the postseason this year.

Matchup history

The Eagles have won seven of the last eight matchups between these two teams and have never lost to the Vikings in the playoffs. The last Eagles QB to start against the Vikings other than Donovan McNabb was Ty Detmer...

Any word on injury updates?

I know samuel is starting… what about pat williams?

by Johnny G on Jan 4, 2009 3:37 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Inactives for Both Teams

Philadelphia

DE Victor Abiamiri
G Shawn Andrews
RB Lorenzo Booker
LB Joe Mays
T Chris Patrick
DE Bryan Smith
TE L.J. Smith

L.J. Smith being out could be big for us, but we’ll have to watch the other Philly TEs anyway.

Minnesota

QB John David Booty (#3 QB)
DE Ray Edwards
DT Letroy Guion
OL Marcus Johnson
TE Garrett Mills
WR Darius Reynaud
LB Dontarrious Thomas
DT Pat Williams

Yep, no Phat Pat today. Here’s hoping Andy Reid forgets to run the football again.

Good luck to you guys today. . .I just hope you don’t have as much luck as we do.

LJ Smith… there’s not a big dropoff between him and Brent Celek. Neither are all that good.

by JasonB on Jan 4, 2009 3:50 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I've heard Williams is out

And the guys on the Daily Norseman have an interesting thread about how Jackson’s better than McNabb. Yeah, well…they better hope they’re right

by ajay on Jan 4, 2009 3:41 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I don't know where you saw that thread

I don’t think too many people are thinking TJack is better than McNabb, but we like his potential. Let’s hope for a great game.

by jswen on Jan 4, 2009 3:42 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yeah

I’m sure it’s a minority opinion, but it’s on the website. I just thought it was funny, that’s all.

Turnovers on defense. If our defense can create two turnovers…. I think we win.

Hi, Mr NFL!

I guess I’m not the only Colts fan jonesing for more playoff goodness following our premature exit from the running (sniff).

The Eagles are going to pull out a win today, I am convinced.

May the wind be always at your back, and may your placekicker have icewater in his veins.

Yeah absolutely. Like I said earlier, the dropoff between LJ and Celek isn’t huge, considering neither are anything special.

You should at least turn on the NFL.com field pass thingy

If you subscribe, you get play-by-play radio coverage of all the game, and if you don’t, you can at least listen to red-zone coverage.

The link won’t appear on nfl.com til after the game starts, though.

May the wind be always at your back, and may your placekicker have icewater in his veins.

Vikings radio guy reporting

That Eagles’ TE Greg Lewis hurt his left leg during pre-game warm-ups and had to be carted off the field.

Don’t know how big a blow that is to you guys.

My bad

I’ve got the Fox TV pre-game and the Vikings’ radio pre-game both going at once. Probably mis-heard what was said.

Actually 5th or 6th…

Top 4 are
Jackson
Curtis
Avant
Baskett

Then Lewis or Brown would normally be active.

by JasonB on Jan 4, 2009 4:17 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Oops. Sorry.

I put the same link up a little later down on this page. Seems they’re cracking down a bit on the streaming though, so the guy, patsfanuk, is accepting IMs for a separate video link. Dunno about the fishyness factor.

OK, here's audio

http://www.justin.tv/phoenixscanner

Apparently, if you have an account there and message patsfanuk he will send you a separate link for video. But the audio should help keep you a little in touch.

Psyched

We only had a 5% chance of making the playoffs before last week and here we are.

by JJinPA on Jan 4, 2009 4:27 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Hell, Vikes struggled to get here too, and only did so by eeking out a division win when the Bears fizzled.

I predict no blowout; it’s gonna be a fight, but eagles will win it.

The fact that the entire national media is so confident makes me a little nervous.

This could be a, “You all picked the Eagles…so why did they lose?”

What does it say that Minnesota fans, who honestly have little to do when it's 5 degrees F...

..don’t have the confidence to buy the freaking playoff tickets until a 3-day extension nearly runs out??
