Cowboys make move for Ravens LB Ray Lewis

I guess the Cowboys finally realize that they need a strong presence in their locker rooms (like our B-Dawk). This would not spell any good for the NFC East if Lewis signed with the Cowboys
The newspaper reports the Cowboys could be willing to give Lewis a three-year deal worth between $27 million and $30 million, with $25 million guaranteed. In addition to his on-field skills, Lewis's personality makes him attractive to the Cowboys. Jerry Jones is said to believe Lewis could help solve the team's problems inside the locker room, the Sun reports.
While I doubt Lewis will leave the team that defined him and his career, enough cash can make a mountain move and Jerry is willing to throw it. Think he will stay or go?

I hope he does

I hope he goes to the Cowboys because he’s not as good as he used to be and it’s not like TO will shut up for Ray.

this is just dumb ... his numbers are right on his career average ... explain to me again how this is "not as good as he used to be"

2008 – 117 TKLS, 85 Solo, 3.5 sacks, 2 FF, 3 INTs
Career – 125 TKLs, 95 Solo, 2.5 Sacks, 1 FF, 2 INTs

do you remember that ray lewis and TO hate eachother? The ravens origionally had TO in the 3 way trade but ray and TO did not get along so the traded him to us. And who can forget the TD celebration when TO scored against the ravens in 2004. He did rays dance just to taunt him.

not really the way the story goes

Ray was actually instrumental in getting TO in Baltimore in the first place. They were freinds and Ray wanted him there. When TO got the ravens deal renegged for his own purposes to play in philly instead of balt’more Ray felt slighted andd that is what pissed him off about TO after he put his neck on the line to get TO there. and of course he thought the dance was bs too

I think Lewis would be great for the Cowboys. He is a real leader and the kind of guy they lack… but I’d be shocked to see the Ravens let him go. He’s the face of that franchise.

Homicide anyone?

What scares me most about Ray Lewis is his killer instinct….

Oh wait, we’re talking about his football ability… my fault.

hahahahaahaha…i’m so glad somebody went there.

I wonder if I can bill Jeff Lurie and Peter Angelos for the years of therapy their teams are going to put me through.

Ray lewis

Is old, slow, and washed up. Heath Miller abused him in the championship. He and TO have a long standing fued from where TO accused him of being a double murderer.

God, I hope the Cowboys sign him.

He had a pretty good season though… Zack Thomas was washed up, I’m not so sure about Lewis.

Amen

I don’t care what his stars are. Ive been watching Lewis for the past 10 years, hes no where as explsovie or as fast as he once was.

One more ok on this

While he looked pretty good this year, he had been on a steady decline for 2-3 seasons. I think he put it all out there this year and will definitely start to slide. And if they want to overpay him for 3 years, that much better. Besides, they seem to be ok in the linebacker department already. That would be like the Eagles spending all their dough on a corner and not upgrading their other weaknesses.

Exactly

Even if he turns out to be a good player for them he is NOWHERE NEAR worth that kind of money. If the Eagles paid that much money for him I would shit!

This is just one more step for JJ becoming the next Al Davis

I would hope Ray Lewis would have the integrity to stay with a winning team like the Ravens. However, if he goes to the Boys I see him going the way of all their other over-paid stars and making no impact-Pacman,Tank, Roy Willaims, Zack Thomas, etc. etc.
