NO MCNABB FOR 09

i was just watching NFl network and they had a talk about the mcnabb and andy in philly. they had audio of fans calling in bashing mcnabb on the radio and all of that.

joe banner came out and said today mcnabb and reid will be back but thats not good enough. mcnabb has stated and banner said  that there will be a sit down and talk with mcnabb about the future of him and the franchise , about how the benching and past situations have been handled . mcnabb has 2 more years on his contract if they dont resign mcnabb to another contract expext him to be gone , adam schefner said expect mcnabb to ask out of philly .

they made a good point also we have been to 5 nfc championship games .not even golden boy PEYTON MANNING can say that. a superbowl is def wat everyone would would see as the ultimate goal but damn thats a sign of somethin good.

09 is  looking ugly already

they better bring mcnabb back

ive said it a million times who ware we going to bring in thats better than 5. kolb is clearly not starter material now (or ever), cassel- good luck trying to put up those kind of numbers without moss and welker.

where did you hear this … I heard he had some set backs but will be back in time for the season. The only way they keep Cassel is to franchise him.

i dont own a tv

but the last thing i heard was his surgery was bad or his body didnt take and he was out … further changes could have happened because like i said i dont own a tv so i go out on sundays to watch football … but wouldnt you sign cassell in case he aggravates his shit ? i would ! i dont see why the patriots would let him go unless his crying for money …

that's why I think they franchise him not sign him to a big deal.

No shit

But I don’t go around stating what i don’t know as fact like so many kolb haters do.

Listen, with a great offensive line, and a great defense, any mediocre QB can win the SB. Look how many crappy Qbs have went to the SB and won it….

I generally love NFL Network ...

… because the insight comes from people who know the game and clearly stay close to it.

But they can’t see the forest for the trees on this McNabb thing. There is a 0% chance Lurie/Banner/Reid let McNabb walk. They will soothe his feelings about the benching, listen to what he has to say about personnel, and bite the bullet as far as whatever his contract demands are.

There just aren’t better quarterbacks sitting out there. Eagles will ride McNabb til the wheels fall off.

+1

and i think we need mcnabb to bitch to them to get some sense in before the draft …

If McNabb is gone it won't be the end of the world

Everyone talked all year about mcnabb but the reason why we got to the CG was becasue of our defense.. not because of mcnabb or westbrook w ho the media and the fans love to talk about. It was McNabb’s poor throws, slow starts, and inconsistency that cost us a few games. Im not saying Kolb would be better but it certainly wouldnt kill the franchise if we got rid of him.

I have read a lot of posts on this board, but this one takes the cake
Im not saying Kolb would be better but it certainly wouldnt kill the franchise if we got rid of him.

I can’t even respond to that statement. You should be insulted by reading it. To get rid of McNabb right now and insert Kolb is not only IDIOTIC, it is without reason.

The Defense definitely came through against Dallas, New York and Washington in the beginning of the season. (41 and 36 points, 150 yards of Clinton Portis preventing McNabb from even attempting a comeback)

The Defense definitely came through on Sunday, giving up a 72 yard, 9 minute drive that killed the season.

Ask Dawkins, he said it after the game. He knows. So why don’t you?

I can't hear you damon

McNabb’s cock is rammed so far down your throat you’re quite inaudible.

although I don’t agree with the intent of your statement, the statement itself was quite hilarious

I agree

It wouldn’t bother me if McNabb walked. Would it be a step back? Possibly. But my gut tells me that he will never lead us to a Super Bowl victory, and that’s what I want. All of these playoff years are nice, and thank you for that Donovan, but I want the Lombardi Trophy here.

I am not a huge McNabb fan

but what other options do we have? And dude has really won me back over this year.

he's only the greatest quarterback in franchise history

and the closest bet this team has ever been to winning a Super Bowl

by damonmoore43 on Jan 20, 2009 4:40 PM EST up reply actions

Theres not many

The only option is Kolb and thanks to Reid no one knows if he can play or not. Why he drafted him I will never know. Play him like Harbaugh plays Flako in Baltimore and see what happens .Hell they went as far as the Eagles did . And if he doesnt well at least u will get a good draft pick .

by JD! on Jan 20, 2009 4:53 PM EST up reply actions

“atleast you will get a good draft pick”.

thats the kind of shit we used to say to each other in the 6th grade lunch table. “hey the eagles should just lose the rest of their game to get a better pick!” theirs no comparision between Baltimore and the eagles. the ravens play in a weaker division then the eagles and only throw the ball 15 times a game. if Joe Flacco ran our offense we wouldnt have gotten anyhwere near the playoffs

Relax

Its quite clear u understood nothing I wrote so i wont waste my time trying to explain it to someone of your intelligence. Now if u dont mind I ll finish my meal cause I dont want to be late for recess.

by JD! on Jan 20, 2009 6:23 PM EST up reply actions

His contract will not let him leave this offseason. Let me explain

McNabb is offically signed through 2012. In 2010, McNabb has the option to opt out of his contract and go to free agency. McNabb is making a huge amount of money in these last few years of his contract and by trading or releasing him, the eagles are obligated to pay him the rest of the guarenteed money. So by trading him, the eagles would take a gigantic cap hit and lose a starting quarterback. Unless we got an incredible deal where we’d recieve 5 all star players or a bunch of first round picks, this trade would not be smart financially or good football management.

are you ppl stupid???

why the hell would you want to get rid of reid and mcnabb.. in all honesty. answer me this… whos going to replace mcnabb? I mean the eagles wait around for his knee to get better, then this year he finally got his game back the last half of the season and you want to let him go?? are you nuts? whos going to come in? garcia? jake plummer? haha get real, mcnabb is on his way back and (as we saw) he can carry a team without a running game or any real recievers….whos going to coach for andy reid?? he is a great coach and plays to his teams strengths…why would the eagles let him go? another team would scoop him up before the ink on the release had time to dry….whos going to coahc? cowler said hes out, jon gruden? not philly style ball… give this D a few more years, then blow it up and start over, B-dawks is has got maybe 2 years of effective play left then he will have nothing left, get a goaline rb and a TE(smith is a pussy and will be in the cfl in a year…I swear if philly fucks this up, I will become and argonaughts fan(cfl).

We drafted Kolb to replace mcnabb

I agree, i think it would be foolish to let Red and staff go.

argos

lmaooo, i live in toronto, i dont even watch the CFL since its so silly
but yea, Defense is gunna be the best in the NFC like easily
even though it was this year, but like its gunna be looked at the same as the baltimore D in a few years

- 1 this was an uninformed opinionated post … I trust the Eagles staff that brought in such players as McNabb, Westbrook, Jackson, Curtis, and Buckhalter over you … have a nice day.
