Abiramiri clearly touched the ball with his right foot out of bounds

Victors right foot is out and his arm hits the ball... from the shot you cannot see the ball strike his arm but you do see the football change the  spinning axis.  Initially there is essentially little to no spin however after it hits abiamiri the ball starts rotating sideways.

Apparently this this has to be 75 words long so I will just state the obvious and rip greg lewis. YES im at 75 words

yes I have just seen several comments from people who were not sure or not if he touched the ball.

I thought Victors arm touched.

his foot was clearly out of bounds.
The ruling on the field was that the ball was touched in bounds than the play went out. This call was incorrect.

The ball appeared to touch Abiamiri’s arm while he was at the line. The first player touching the ball can not be from out of bounds. Therefore the ball is ruled dead, and Philadelphia is assessed a penalty for illegal touch.

The point is, the ball is DEAD. There was no way Arizona was gonna be awarded that ball if Victor touched it while being out of bounds.

My understanding...

My understanding is that it is a penalty to be the first to touch the ball if you are in bounds after you went out of bounds, but it is not a penalty to touch the ball out of bounds on a kickoff when you are out of bounds, it is instead a penalty against the kicking team since the player standing out of bounds is considered part of that out of bounds…I saw it elsewhere used offensively this year but can’t remember what game…basically, should have been Eagles ball on the 40, as I recall the rule. Still no way Cardinals get the ball.

you are correct

and i remember that it did come up earlier this year too….except it was some rookie that made a mistake. he caught it, and stepped out. he should have caught it WHILE stepping out and it would have been their ball on the 40. instead….it was theirs on the 1. i think it was a Broncos game.
