"Storyline" you'll be most tired of
The problem with the media isn't that they're stupid, incompetent or incapable.
Reporters and talking heads just love an easy storyline.
Gathering new information is hard work. Research is time-consuming. Actually watching the games? Pffft.
Much easier to recycle the same old tired things everyone has heard before and will accept, regardless of their basis in fact or relevance:
With that in mind, here are some terms I think will be worn out over the next week or three:
1) "benched"
2) "booed on draft day"
3) "the same fans who wanted McNabb and Reid gone"
4) "Only went to the Super Bowl once, in 2004 with Terrell Owens"
T5) "wants out" and "who once booed Santa Claus"
What else is going to get run into the ground ad nauseam the longer the Eagles play?

Its personal with Green
Only my posts on mcnabb are negative . I think hes over rated , a cry baby and a bit of a phony. Now having said that i undoubtly will be attacked and called names because i dont agree or worship at the alter of McNabb. So be it . However I have a personal score with the guy who wrote that witty post
I'm not going to call you names
you’re just wrong.

“can mcnabb redeem himself after the first awful showing against baltimore”
“andy reid didn’t even tell mcnabb he was getting benched”
this doesn’t mean I think the eagles will be playing baltimore in the superbowl, just these lines were easier to think of, please don’t let this jinx the eagles
(sadly, I heard this yesterday….chicago sports radio is incompetent)…
“The eagles wide receivers are awful! McNabb has never had anyone to throw to except for when TO was there”
the playoff beards ( i don’t mind this story, though…but it will be talked about relentlessly)
uhh, the eagles WRs are mediocre
maybe not awful, but certainly average at best…

i think they’re pretty good…curtis broke 1000 last year, jackson almost 1000 this year. I called them imcompetent for saying the eagles WRs are awful, not because I think Jackson and Curtis are great WRs. certaintly not awful, and definately serviceable wide outs
serviceable is a nice shiny word for average...
i put kevin curtis’ “1000” yard season in 2007 in the same category as Mike Furrey in 2006. Haven’t heard of him? me neither until his ‘breakout’ year in 2006. 98 catches, over a 1,000 yards. But he hasn’t been heard from since. He’s an average receiver. One 1,000 yard season means little in my book.
Curtis has made some great plays, but I’m not going to say he’s serviceable. He’s average.
D Jack has the potential to improve on his #s this year. And he’s a special teams threat.

you are aware that
Curtis only played in 9 games this year and is probably still not 100%. We’ve seen Donny and LJ try to come back from the same injury/surgery and IMO Curtis has come back as strong if not stronger (in LJs case).
I think Curtis is much more then serviceable he’s got 33 receptions 390 yards at 11.8 average in a West Coast offense that spreads the ball around and with a lingering injury. Next year will be the year to judge Curtis … you can’t make that judgment this year with all the variables.

Yeah I agree with this wholeheartedly… He’s regarded as an excellent route runner… This is something that gets overlooked too often in the NFL. Route running is what will continue to give you seperation year after year… Unlike those WRs who rely on size and speed (looking at you T.O.)… once you loose a step, you’re useless. Jerry Rice just had a quote regarding T.O.‘s decline. Something to the effect of he relies on his size and speed, but maybe if he spent more time on his route running efforts, he would be able to create better seperation… He doesn’t really have the physical edge he once did.
