Eagles @ Giants 2nd half open thread

Eagles up 10-8 at the half. Unsuprisingly, it's a defensive struggle.

let’s do this

Anyone else think Brandon Pettigrew would take care of the TE position?

by JJinPA on Jan 11, 2009 2:42 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

maybe

is still like celek. he is young, and still makes a few mistakes, but is normally a solid TE. reminds me of chad lewis.

that said, we could use a good second TE. i wouldn’t mind pettigrew.

indeed

With westbrooks “severly swollen” knee and runyan’s knee…I think they’re not hurting from the looks of things.

by thwalls on Jan 11, 2009 2:44 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

But considine is killing me…along with our complete lack of field position and penalties in the first half.

by thwalls on Jan 11, 2009 2:43 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

6 penalties in the first half

not in the playoffs my friend. Will not fly.

by daiggles on Jan 11, 2009 2:46 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I feel good...

…About our defense and the way our offense is getting rolling.
I feel bad about the officiating- YOU CANNOT CALL AN INTENTIONAL GROUNDING IN THAT SITUATION (AWARDING POINTS AND A CHANGE OF POSESSION) UNLESS YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY SURE THAT THE TRAJECTORY OF THE THROW WAS NOT ALTERED BY CONTACT WITH THE BODY OR THROWING ARM!!
I’m just saying- that was BULLSHIT

by daiggles on Jan 11, 2009 2:44 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I just wanted the momentum at the end of the half and we got that with the lead in line with possession.

by thwalls on Jan 11, 2009 2:45 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yep,

notice how quiet Gnats fans got?

by JJinPA on Jan 11, 2009 2:46 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I think that if we can score any points on this first drive and also eat maybe 5-7 minutes, then that’ll really help to put us in front deep.

by thwalls on Jan 11, 2009 2:46 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

word

we can beat this team. keep hammering the ball, and converting third downs.

Defense

will win this game (as it always has for us). Keep giving the ball to westbrook and opportunities will open for the offense to put up another 14.

I signed on specifically

to share the Considine Count with some people who care (and clearly already know what it is)

2 positive plays
1 negative play

by psudrozz on Jan 11, 2009 3:10 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Every play

it seems like someone goes off the field. From the start, you knew it would be like this though. The intensity was palpable from minute one. Guys are tripping and slapping each other all over the place when you watch closely — and that’s just what we can see on the tv screen.

by jerseygrl on Jan 11, 2009 3:12 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

if we could even average 3 yards per run on 1st down, which is still well below the league average, we’d be in business. but as it is now, any running play is essentially a wasted down.

by MetroGlobe on Jan 11, 2009 3:09 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Just out of curiosity, how do y’all like better in the draft: Pettigrew or Gresham?

by JasonB on Jan 11, 2009 3:11 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I'm listening to YSP on the radio

while watching, but the delay is too annoying. However, it makes me feel like a real expert when Reese says everything after I’ve already said it :)

by jerseygrl on Jan 11, 2009 3:14 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The delay depends on what kind of cable you have. HD, digital, regular, satellite, broadcast… all different amounts of delay. I believe YSP tries to synch with over the air broadcast TV, which has the least delay

by JasonB on Jan 11, 2009 3:15 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Comcast cable

regular cable, and the delay is a few seconds. Interesting that they synch with over the air broadcast. I don’t think many people do the rabbit ears anymore.

why are they getting so much pressure on 5? is it because Westy is going out for passes? or is it that our TE’s are that dreadful at pass protection? either way, it’s gotta get solved. because we got nothin’ if they’re blasting donovan in the face on his pass release.
