From 1933 to 1999, these teams met in the playoffs only once, but this will be their third postseason meeting this decade. These two teams have combined to win every NFC East title this decade except one.
Bottom line
Despite the fact that Giants are trying to play the underdogs and victims, pretty much the rest of world thinks they're going to win. They're being picked by most experts, the entire philly media, entire NY media, they're Vegas favorites... No matter how much the Giants try to convince themselves otherwise, very few people think the 6th seeded Eagles will go on the road and beat the the #1 seed Giants.
Of course, very few people thought we'd even be here. Heading into the final week of the season the Eagles probability of getting into the postseason was in the single digits. Time after time this Eagles team has defied expectations and done what people thought they couldn't.
Let's hope today ends up with a trip to the desert booked for next weekend.

Ok, just for lucks sake.
I posted this to the Vikings fans before the game and I’ll be darned if I don’t say the same thing this week just to keep things rolling. But darnit I feel the same way about this game as I did the last.
To the Giants Fans out there:
But lets be straight, I do not want a good game at all. And I won’t say that I do. I don’t understand when fellow Eagles – or New York fans – can say they want a good game, or think it will be. I want a massacre. I want the majority of the NFL audience to turn off the game at half time because the Eagles are up 56-9. I want it to look like a freight train hitting a van filled with puppies into a nursing home. I want dogs and cats living together – mass hysteria. I want the vikings to be playing their 3rd strength QB because Eli is huddling in a corner of the Stadium with Carr talking to a pack of string cheese because they have suffered traumatic stress from the Eagles Defensive onslaught.
I want the game to be so one sided and boring that I hope the owners of the Giants burn down the Giants Stadium after the game because of the embarrassment thrust upon them at the hands Don and company. I want people in charge of New York to issue a warning not to go out of their homes in fear that the Eagles secondary has continued into a mysterious 5th quarter and there are reports of Asante Samuel and Brian Dawkins carrying off small children and running them back for "touchdowns". I want destruction, I want annihilation, I want complete catastrophe. I want to see Kevin Kolb at the start of the 3rd Quarter because we’re up 56-0 and the only reason the Offense is out is because we lost the coin toss at the start of the game, and the defense has been out for the entire first half due to their continued defensive scoring as the result of fumbles and interceptions.
I want to drink the tears of your fans when the Eagles advance to play the Cardinals after completely decimating the Giants.
I don’t want a good game. I want to hear the announcer in Giants stadium say "Finish him!" when the clock in the 4th quarter reads 00:01.
That’s what I want.

no, i really didn’t. i focussed on avant and the backfield.
and im pretty sure some of the giants were doing the same thing.

he’s been better on special teams.
last weeks penalty was a joke, and this was borderline

sean considine does everything he possibly can to keep us from winning. gives it 110% every single game. gotta applaud his effort, right?
That’s when Jacobs is dangerous, when he gets past the LOS untouched. That’s when e gets a head of steam. As we’ve shown in this game, when you hit him at the line he’s much easier to bring down.
if only we could run the ball even semi-decently. we’re ending up in 3rd and long every series. that’s not a formula for success.

look, eli is not the best qb in the world. look at his record without burress.

Eli is really struggling with the wind… which is odd considering it’s his home stadium. You think he’d know how to deal with it by now.

Giants are playing heavy blitz/run stop…so maybe some bubble screens or RB screens would force them to open up.
