Saturday divisional games open thread
The divisional round of the NFL playoffs kicks off today with two games on the schedule.
At 4:30 today the Baltimore Ravens travel to Tennessee to take on the AFC's top seeded Titans. Like all 4 games this weekend, it's a rematch with the Titans winning 13-10 in Baltimore earlier this season.
The late game sees Arizona travelling to Carolina to take on the NFC's #2 seeded Panthers. When these two played in Carolina in October, the Panthers won in comeback fashion 27-23.
My predictions
Tennessee 17, Baltimore 20
Carolina 31, Arizona 17

Two weeks ago...
…we needed the Bucs to lose at home to the dreadful Oakland Raiders and we needed either Chicago or Minnesota to lose. Then we had to beat the Cowboys. We did it.
What are the chances Arizona wins and we beat the Giants, setting up an NFC Championship game in the desert. Can lightning strike twice in two weeks?
What a bore this is...
Tennessee had a chance to put this away early, but two redzone turnovers at the end of the first half killed them. Now they have injuries.

Dude...
Warner, Fitzgerald, Boldin, Breaston, Doucet, James, Hightower…that’s a lot of offensive talent on one team. Too much, if you ask me.
if the cards can stop the run...
which they arent…
they have a great chance at winning this game
and althought id love some revenge against the panthers… id much rather play the cards if we get passed the giants
IDK what you're talking about
the cards have forced a fumble and a redzone interceptin :P
cmon kurt you can do it!! haha
Conspiracy Theory
So Edgerrin James was upset with the limited number of carries he got this season. Now he’s getting a lot in the postseason. Did Ken Whisenhunt say, “I’m going to not play him to keep him fresh until the postseason…”
I’m starting to get convinced here. He looks great.
He was pretty animated...
…after those INTs. Here’s hoping Eli has a similar performance tomorrow.
By the way, Fitzgerald: 6 rec, 151 yards, 1TD…in the first half
It’s actually good news for us. If Carolina loses, that first round pick we have of theirs will be a few spots better.
if we got beanie wells
i would lose my mind….

i think we’ll find out about Reid’s perspective on our needs when the offseason comes and we see if we sign buckhalter and how many years we sign him for if we decide to sign him..

Still
We wouldn’t draft a RB high even if he felt it was a huge need. I don’t see why we wouldnt resign buck though. Dude has been making the most out of every touch. If anything we draft a rb in the 4th or 5th and he’ll probably sit for a year than we might think about replacing an rb. It’s tough to learn our system anyway.
E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!
based on odds it really isn’t good for us jason. if home team has won in the divisional round at a rate of 50% in the last 3 years and 2 out of 4 home teams get taken out today……
OK that's game for Carolina
Anyone know what pick we’ll get from Carolina losing in the divisional?

Honestly
Worst playoff performance I’ve seen in a long, long time.
And on his birthday, the announcer says. Yikes…
Ha
Couldn’t happen to a nicer team. Screw you, Panthers, you dirty assholes.
(I curse you for all time, Greg Favors. Yes, I know he’s not on the team any more.)
I wonder if I can bill Jeff Lurie and Peter Angelos for the years of therapy their teams are going to put me through.
When did AZ go from Pretender to Contender?
And all without Boldin!
I couldn’t have been more wrong about this game.
if we beat the Gnats
It should be a cakewalk to the Superbowl.
Yo hold up
“Cakewalk”? Are you kidding me? I know we smacked around Arizona, but the way they’re playing now is pretty impressive. I like our shots, but no more of this cakewalk talk.
Me either
Jake Delhomme was simply awful tonight and that is the reason why they lost. I don’t think the Cards are that great. It may not be a “cake walk” but it should be one of the easiest NFC CG games ever. They’re still a one dimensional team. Even though they didnt abandon the run they still only averaged like 2 ypc. Im not on the cards band wagon at all.

Cards vs. Panthers
The Cardinals match up really well vs. the Panthers. The Panthers are an okay pass defense (mostly against backs and tight ends) and a terrible rush defense, which is just what the Cardinals need to match up their great pass offense and terrible run offense. OTOH, the strength, such as it is of the Cardinals defense is their rush defense, which is Carolina’s offensive strength.
When they played in October, the Cards were up two scores before eventually coughing up the game by 4.
