Phi 27 - StL 10
I think this is a pretty easy game to start with. St Lois secondary is terrible, they have an aging pass attack, and are just all around short on weapons.
Jackons will not rush for much, because the birds will strick quick and run the clock. Rams will be forced to pass. I think that St Lois scores on a Philly mistake (someone falls in coverage) or pass interferance or something flukey.
The objective of this game is to stay healthy for Dallas.

I feel bad for the guy who picks the Rams … of course everyone will pick the Birds to win … and they should

Eagles-31 Rams-10
McNabb has 2 TD passes, Westbrook Has 1 rushing TD, We have 1 special teams touchdown, and on the first eagles posession, we stall and get a field goal. Our D will look tough and S.Jackson will be held to a hard earned 92 yards rushing.

A star is born. Desean runs back a punt and takes a fly pattern to the house. B-West runs one in and Donovan looks great. All in all a very birdly day. 24-10.

Eagles 24 Rams 13
Westbrook will have a solid day both rushing and receiving – 143 total yards with 2 TD’s. The defense will be tough, hold S. Jackson to 94 yards rushing with a TD.
Bulger won’t be able to pass, our DB’s are too good. He will throw 2 picks!!

Blow Out
The Rams are a bad, bad team. The Eagles need to take care of business and blow the doors off them. If things click, they could hang a 40-burger on them, while limiting them to 14 or less. This should be a big blow out. If its not, we will see a repeat of last year’s nail-biter type games all year long.
I’m predicting a McNabb-Jackson-Westbrook 2008 coming out party. 38-13.

Eagles 27 Rams 13
I think the O will be a bit rusty to start off with, but will get better as the game goes on. LJ Smith cathes and Avant catch a TD pass each, with Westbrook rushing for one. Djax will have around 7 catches for 80 yards.
The NFC East goes through Philly.

Eagles 34 Rams 16
BWest will get his, both on the ground and through the air. He runs for like 90 catches another 35 and puts one in the endozone one way or another. Everyone’s concentrating on the WRs vs. the Ram’s lack of secondary. Even the Rams are concentrating on DeSean. I say they overlook LJ Smith (and even Marty will be smart enough to notice this; I hope) and LJ has a solid game. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 70 yards and a score. DeSean goes somewhere between 95 and 110 yards and a TD, and contributes with about 50 yards in punt returns throughout the evening. (I don’t see him taking one to the house tonight). McNabb distributes another 90 or so passing yards between Booker, Baskett, and Avant… Maybe Lewis hauls one in; possibly. Baskett gets the other score. Booker has about 20 yards through the air and another 15 on the ground. Buckhalter adds another 25 – 35 on the ground.
The one thing I’m looking forward to is to see how they start lining up Westbrook, Booker and even now Hunt/Buckhalter in formation. Hunt’s a big dude and a strong runner. Wanna see an “Oh shit” moment by the Ram’s D? Hunt/Buckhalter in the backfield, 4 wide. Jackson with BWest in the slot on one side, and Lewis with Booker in the slot on the other. If there’s one thing Lewis does is run… They need corners to stick with Jackson and Lewis; have them run go routes and the whole secondary will be open for BWest and Booker to run around with linebackers trying to cover them… I seriously do think we’ll get a good taste of the crazy matchup stuff they will try this year. Shit, with Curtis out and Brown maybe/maybe not playing they could line Booker and BWest up all over the place.
We take a decent lead into half, slow the game down a bit in the second half and let it run out. The Rams end up with one TD drive, but come up short for the rest of the game, only managing 3 field goals.

… Yeah they looked that way pretty much because they are that way. They’re going to be a bad team me thinks. I dunno man, Tom Coughlin’s face scares me a bit…. shrugs

if anyone’s bored, go read Hogs Heaven… those poor bastards are ready to pack it in for the year already… lol… it’s funny. And I almost… almost… feel sorry for them. They pretty much want to tar and feather Zorn, make Jason Campbell a beer vendor in the stands, publically sodomize Dan Snyder, and oh yeah, half of the city is already calling for tries to hold in laughter Colt Brennan to be their savior… did they neglect to watch the Georgia/Hawaii game last year???
by foos05 on Sep 5, 2008 12:49 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I feel sorry for Campbell he has had the same problem Alex Smith has had
a different system to learn ever year and not being able to mature the way a QB needs to with consistency. Zorn, well it was his first game and I think after the first half he recovered fairly well, they will get better this season, but probably not better than 8-8.

zorn had terrible play calling…he did nothing to counter the blitz…no draws, screens, quick slants…nothing (that i saw). any of those things would have made the giants play more honestly. i didn’t see the first half, but the second half was not really a lesson in play calling
by eagleyosh on Sep 5, 2008 2:45 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
did you see Clinton Portis’s chip block and nearly knock Kiawanuka out.
Zorn was not ready for the blitz packages and changing your offensive game plan completly in the middle of a game is difficult for a veteran coach I don’t think Zorn failed in his first game but there is a lot of room for improvement

I had no idea the skins would look that bad. Eli looked like Eli. He should have had like 3 interceptions though.

+19 lol. i think that the crowd will just overpower whatever willpower the rams could have. i think that this St. Louis team isn’t used to a Philly crowd on opening day. especially when its the eagles

Eagles 24 Rams 9
B-West 1 TD on the ground and 1 TD through the air! The rams won´t be able to handle him cause he´ll have much space to work with!
And i think demps will take the first kickoff to the house!
our D holds them to only 3 FG!
GO EAGLES!

Eagles 35-10
Bulger will be so rattled he’ll be throwing passes to the Eagles cheerleaders by the end of the game. One special teams TD. BW, LJ, D Mac will all shine, and we’ll get a wow or two from “fraction-Jackson”. Defense will cause 3 turnovers.

It’s great to see the optimism from everyone. Granted, the Rams aren’t great, but it’s still good to see some confidence. Go EAGLES!

No one could predict that it would be that much of a blow out. Ha, ha.
