Rams game plan for Desean Jackson

Donovan McNabb may not be convinced Desean Jackson is a major weapon yet, but Rams coach Scott Linehan just might be.
In practice Wednesday, the Rams used one of their own to simulate the Eagles' rookie wideout on the scout team during practice, according to a St. Louis Post-Dispatch report.
Derek Stanley, a practice-squad receiver, wore DeSean Jackson's No. 10 red pinafore as the team prepared for its Sunday opener against the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.
This is the type of stuff teams usually do with Brian Westbrook. Using one of their players as a clone of him to prepare their defense to defend him on game day. The fact that the Rams are doing it with Jackson really speaks to how impressive the rookie looked in preseason. It's a real sign of respect to hear the Rams specifically targeting Jackson in their game plan.
"We certainly know a lot about him," Rams coach Scott Linehan told Eagles reporters via conference call.
The Eagles web site has released their projected lineup for Sunday and Jackson is indeed listed as starting in place of Brown, whereas Brown is listed as starting in place of Curtis.

man it’s nice to know other teams think he can cause them problems. but i hope jackson keeps his blinders on for this type of shit and continues to work hard and study and not think that this means that he’s “arrived” and can dog it… i’m assuming he still talks to jerry rice on a regular basis and i can only hope jerry keeps jackson’s ego in check

who cares about ego?
i’ll take a little ego if he’s producing to back it up. obviously no TO crap, but DeSean Ocho Cinqo sounds ok.

i'm a little displaced from my spanish training
but i’m pretty sure un means “a” as in “un banana” (a banana). and if we’re going with the chad johnson style of ocho cinco (8 5) then uno cero i think follows the form

Desean Diez sounds a bit off
so it’d have to be Uno Cero.
On another note – Derek notes that Desean is no longer showing up on the PE.com projected starting lineups anymore…

It also should be noted that Reggie Brown couldn’t practice today… I think that makes it even more likely Jackson starts.

Yeah - not liking the hammy
Hamstring injuries are hard to heal – ultrasound and stretching: lots of both.
Something like 9 years ago I tore mine, and it still gives me issues…
I expect the projected lineups will change again today. Maybe Booker will be listed as a starting WO ;)

No! I was so looking forward to Dieci (Italian) starting!
Quick, Eagles, put him back on the starting roster. Obviously they are just trying to throw the Rams off…

is anyone else watching the ny washington game wondering why washington continually throws for 2 yards short of the first down when it’s third down? they don’t look too good. also…eli has made a lot of bad decisions this half (only part i’ve seen)

Deadskins
They look like shit. Is Art Shell coaching them this year?
But then the Giants, once they got over scoring on the first drive, haven’t looked like anything special either. Gilbride’s playcalling is atrocious.
Oh, and Brandon Jacobs is still a thug. Is it too much to hope for a big dude like Bunkley or Gocong just knocking him silly?

that game was badddd
the redskins were terrible, especially on offense.
eli’s lucky he didn’t have multiple picks. the ball went straight through the hands of those washington dbs. jacobs was really really good though. he’s pretty sick when he isn’t injured because he’s almost impossible to tackle.

Campbell
Why don’t they trust him? He seems competent enough, but they aren’t willing to let him run the offense.

The Jury's out still
as to whether the Skins actually have an offense to run.

Yeah it looks as if they aren’t installing the “Two Minute Drill” portion of their Awful-fense until this weekend, cuz they sure as shit didn’t have it ready for last night’s game…

Seriously
It seems like good news all around.
Redskins suck, Giants suck.
Manning didn’t learn anything in the playoffs – that pick? WTF was he throwing that ball for – as soon as he let the ball go I was yelling “c’mmon pick that $hit off.”
The Gints D got some real good pressure, but their secondary looks less than stellar. Aaron Ross was way out of position (looked confused) on Campbell’s TD.
anyway.

And he should have had 3 more picked just in the first half. Both he and Campbell looked like hammered shit. Also we learned that if Manning can’t throw to Burress, he’s pretty much fucked. What was he like 18 of 37 or something, with 10 completions to Burress.
