Not to bring politics into this thread

But man I hope they beat Obama!

I'm so tired of that crap

I am white, but that has nothing to do with the why i dont like Obama. I actually like the thought of a black president.

What I cant stand about Obama, is that he’s basically a socialist, his wife is maybe the biggest racist we’ve seen in a while, and his tax plan is very very bad. Small business will not fair well with him

Lastly, I’m never in favor of someone who favors limiting gun rights. People act like taking guns a way will solve all of our problems. It will actually make them far far worse. I guarantee crime will go up (Iook at Australia), and worst of all, taking guns out of the hands of civilians gives the government absolute power.

It was so important to the forefathers that only one ammendment was before it

Godwin's Law

Automatic lost argument. Bringing up Nazis and (and by analogy race) and the like where it has no relevance.

To be honest… I kinda like both guys. I think they’re both good, well intentioned men that would be capable of running the country, probably better than the guy we have now.

Not to turn BGN into a political forum, this would be an election where I would vote for “neither” if I had the chance. Overall, both of them seem like they have some sort of idea about where we need to go as a country; but please remember that this is campaigning and first and foremost, what they say will not be what we get. Second, both have one major cornerstone campaign piece which could be a horrid disaster for this country. Obama’s bybrid-Canadianesque health care reform has be frightened to death. I’m all for some kind of health reform, but simply giving away health care to everyone in the country is not the answer. The reason Canada can do this is because your access to doctors and facilites is limited. Imagine having to wait 3 months to get an MRI because there is only one MRI facility within 90 miles that you are allowed to use. Now imagine that it doesn’t matter if it’s a routine test or because you have a potentially fatal problem; you wait either way. No thanks. McCain… Ugh, his tax reform is total shit. I don’t even want to get into the wait it could turn into a flaming disaster; especially considering our current financial situation.

The way I look at this election, it’s basically giving someone a switchblade and giving them a choice of walking into a cage with a tiger or a cage with a bear. We’re going to roll the dice either way and hope we don’t get mauled.

I’m not sure if my points really came across or not from earlier posts. But i agree with you. And for the record, i do not like McCain very much… that said, Obama really scares me. And i swear if someone says its because I’m white I’m gonna bust a blood vessel. His health care and welfare reform means taking even more away from those who work their asses off for it in order to give it to those who don’t. I mean Michelle Obama has pretty much said those exact words without even trying to disguise it. THIS IS AMERICA. WE ARE FREE ENTERPRISE.

If you don’t like it, there was this place called the USSR…

I should add this though… I do think that something has to be done about the way the insurance companies basically run the health care industry… but giving everyone equal healthcare is not the answer

yeah man, i’m honestly scared no matter what the outcome of the election is. we’re going to play with fire either way. we may as well have beavis and butt-head running against itchy and scratchy. if you really want to get down to it. the VP cands. Biden – wow. i’m in utter disbelief how little this man actually knows (and he most certainly does not get a pass from me because he grew up like 10 miles from my house; everyone knows he’s from PA right?). i’m going to refrain from listing his public disasters just over the past two weeks; but i’ll just say that it’d probably be a good idea if an aide informed him that FDR wasn’t president during the Great Depression, and TV wasn’t invented until two decades later. if you don’t know what i’m talking about; google it. his sole purpose is to be Obama’s talking puppet.

Palin – sexy librarian… that’s it. please tell me how a former sports broadcaster from some backwoods fucking tv station decides one day to run off and elope, then move to Alaska… majored in communications in college, had zero educational or real world experience in politics, runs her kids’ PTA for a few years and out of nowhere becomes Governor of a (semi-)state. then randomly gets picked to be a VP cand. reports said she wasn’t even in the initial top 20 possibilites and was basically selected hours before a decision had to be made. her sole purpose in this election is to not say anything (too) stupid to destroy herself in the hopes that she will suck all of the faithful (and bitter) Hillary supporters to the GOP ticket.

Honestly, I weap for our nation just thinking about the next four years. I’m just going to build a panic room in my basement that has four years of supplies and retreat to it with my sat. tv, dvd collection, and Eagles memorbilia. Wake me when the nightmare is over.

Incidentally… Michelle Obama may be the most racist high profile political personality in the past decade…

How do we get such idiots running for office?

We’ve got Mr. I don’t Know How Many Houses I Own But Its A Lot

We’ve got Mr. 57 States My Muslim Faith And My Granddad Liberated Auschwitz

We’ve got Mr. Stand Up Chuck Watching FDR on the Fucking Boob Tube

We’ve got Mrs. Deer In Headlights Can’t Answer a Simple Fucking Question

Seriously, how the fuck do you get that stupid and get elected? Did these guys whack every banch on the stupid tree when they fell out of it?

And its not like its an isolated occurance, as we’ve previously had such gems as Mr. I Invented the Internet and President Is Our Children Learning as well as President I Don’t Know What a Grocery Store Scanner Is and Vice President Yes That’s Me Holding a Bazooka Backwards So that Its Pointing At My Men.

Notice all the American Marxists taking a boat to move that direction compared to the number of Cubans who want to come here? Oh, none of them are? Surprise, surprise!

Like Cowgirls fans in Philly

You know, thats what these socialists are like.

If you love the fucking Cowgirls sooo fucking much, move to fucking Dallas. Its not like they don’t have jobs and clean running water down there. I hear they even have flush toilets and McDonalds and Walmarts and beer. All the amenities of American civilization. So if you hate your own native place and its allegiances and systems and teams so much, get off your fucking butt and move!

and you’re darn right, by golly, i can’t wait to get his take on the debacle debate last night… personally i’m still repressing it from my memory, but perhaps in a few hours i’ll have some comments

by foos05 on Oct 3, 2008 8:37 AM EDT up reply actions

Disagree

Actually, I don’t think either of the candidates are particularly good and well intentioned. They are both clearly power-hungry/power-mad egotists who will stop at almost nothing to gain power. Otherwise they would not be running for office.

Also, neither of them disagreed with Jim Lehrer when he said “one of you is going to rule this country” during the last debate. No Jim! WRONG. One of them will SERVE this country as chief executive. “Here, sir, the people rule.”

The only person who can really be trusted with power is someone who is not seeking it.
Frankly, I’d rather have Biden and Palin as the candidates.

by Andrew B on Oct 2, 2008 4:38 PM EDT up reply actions

If I may

I’m majoring in Political Science and have taken a keen interest in the race. I have looked at both candidates’ plans and I have to say that I’m supporting McCain. I think I’m pretty objective, but that’s just my take. But I second Bdawk’s nomination!

Yeah you’ll have already voted, and I’ll still be in the country for the inauguration. Some pretty exciting times if you ask me. I can’t wait to get to Philly to see where all that is right with the modern world started. I need to pace myself, otherwise I might pop an artery lol.

Leon definitely get to a Birds game… I don’t know how interested in hockey you are, but a Flyers game would be worth getting to as well… Also, we have some historic junk laying around that’s kind cool…

I’m going to the Thanksgiving game against the Cardinals. I don’t really like hockey, but then again, I don’t know a lot about it. Yeah you’ve got quite a scrapheap there…

Hey Leon… How long are you going to be here exactly? Will your stay be restricted to Philly or are you planning on traveling more around the country? You said you’d be here for the Cards game and will still be around for the Pres. inauguration, so I’m assuming you’re coming sometime in mid-November and staying well into Jan. or later… Just curious…

Most people cant look behind the democratic and republican nominees because the corporate media does not inform you of your other choices. Not that its their duty to but its def a biased world. I dont care about what chuck baldwins chances of winning are but i agree with every issue and how he plans to address them.

700 … go check out his section on fire arms … you want to keep yours ? i wanna keep my ar-15 ! why not vote for the guy who plans on letting you … and can also unload a full clip center torso ! Thats my kind of president !

but lets call it what it is

A vote that is not for Obama or McCain is a wasted vote.

Maybe I’d be able to get a real machine gun for recreational shooting like my brother-in-law has. That was a trip and a half to shoot at our family “range” out north of Pittsburgh. Story for another day.

We’re (three of us are going) arriving on the 26th of November to watch the game. We’re leaving again on the 28th to go to Killington ski-resort in Vermont where we’ll be working. We’re heading back on the 28th of January. I’m still secretly hoping that we find someone at the game that has a job for us in Philly.
