Why you should love the Steelers
Eagles should love the Steelers for one major reason,...we have robbed the Cowboys of glory many many times. Imagine a world where the Cowboys have won 7 or 8 superbowls,...owned the 1970's, and are unanimously touted as the greatest franchise in the NFL. The Pittsburgh Steelers are all that stood between you and that world. We beat them twice in the Superbowl,...we took the 1970's away from them,...and probably gained tons of fans who otherwise would have rooted for the Cowboys. Imagine dealing with Cowboy nation thats twice as large as it is now?? Yeah, that would suck.
So anyway,...the Steelers gained greatness largely at the expense of your most hated rival. You should love us.
As a Steelers fan,...my most despised teams are the Browns and Ravens,....but the Cowboys are a very close third.

Point taken
This is a really strong argument that I never considered.
Cowboys fans would be absolutely insufferable if they had 7 or 8 rings and two dynasties. With “only” 5, they are merely tied with the Steelers and 49ers.
Thank you for that Steelers.

Totally agree. I thank god for the Steelers and Niners preventing the Cowboys from calling themselves the greatest ever dynasty.

lets not forget !!!
you may of dealt with these endeavors but do not think twice to thank us in return as i thank you… during the draft (not the nfl kind lol) our franchises would of foreclosed so to speak due to the amount of people taken from both teams for the war … this is the sole reason i have respect for the steelers … not because of what you said but because 2 teams made 1 to keep 2 alive and coming from a military life that’s a beautiful example of unity in my eyes … thats why i will never contribute to the bullshit state rivalry that others speak of … but dont get me wrong brother from another, once the whistle blows i go grandpa in this biotch and start screaming at whoever apposes my beloved E A G L E S EAGLES !!!!!!

I hate Steelers fans because I live in the middle of Steeler country, and they’re all a bunch of hicks. Woo! Your team was good in the 70s! I give a crap. Oh, I forgot, you won the worst Superbowl in recent memory, too. Good thing Hines Ward can throw, because Roflcoptar couldn’t that day.

Gonna have to try really hard for the Cards’ post though… I’d schedule those lowely bastards 16 times every year if the NFL would let us.

I kind of like the bye
It gives a weekend where I don’t feel compelled to watch football.
Can get out, ride the bike – go camping or something…
This year, October 19 isn’t too late – maybe Moab…

Good point.
No matter how jealous I may be of the Steelers, I do consider this a friendly cross-state rivalry (although it probably wouldn’t be so friendly if they played more or if I lived in either Philly or Pittsburgh, which seem to not like each other very much, rather than the mid-state).
And I do very much appreciate all they have done to stand against a world dominated by Dallas.
Thank you Pittsburgh. Except for this week, I wish you luck.

Yeah, I think it is pretty friendly. I was rooting for the steelers in the superbowl against Seattle.
I’m dating a Steelers fan actually. Maybe I should get her to post.
