Lito Sheppard toes the line
During camp and during preseason Lito Sheppard made no secret of his unhappiness. He wanted a new contract, the Eagles didn't give it to him. He wanted to start, the Eagles put him as #3 on the depth chart.
His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, stirred up trouble by saying Lito would be traded within a few weeks and by criticizing Sheldon Brown.... But as we approach Eagles/Cowboys Lito is all business.
"We're just going about the regular game plan," Sheppard said after practice yesterday. "Nothing's changed. It all depends on what (formations) they're in. When Asante is in there, he'll hold it down. When Sheldon's in there, he'll hold it down. And when I'm in there, I'll hold it down."
In the last Eagles Cowboys game Lito followed Owens around the field and shut him down. In fact, I don't need to tell Eagles fans that Lito's best moments have come against Dallas. So what will his role be Monday Night?
"We'll see how it goes," Sheppard said. "It's a team game and a team defense, and everybody has to do what they're supposed to do. I'm just going to go out and play ball. In a game of this magnitude — Monday Night Football, Dallas — who wouldn't want to have a great game?"
Sounds like Lito got te message. The only route to getting everything he wants, whether that's more money or a different team is to go out and prove himself on the field. If he's healthy and productive this year he'll get his money one way or the other this offseason.

Good for Lito. He’s a Cowboy Killer and we need him to be focused for this one.

i agree brian. Lito always steps it up against the cowboys and we need that again this week. I also do believe that if lito just goes out and proves that he can stay healthy that he will get paid somewhere. Personally I hope that he stays here and that we can keep all three corners for years

i want this all to be sincere but....
you have to step back and look at the whole picture. lito has proven himself on monday nights and he always plays exceptionally well against Dallas and we all know that and so does the front office… so is he (just giving this some thought) playing nice so he looks like he is all for the team and hoping that the front office will start him on his past merits or at least give him the majority of playing time. If he acts this way next week i will be sold on his commitment but i can see him starting to cry again if he doesnt play alot against Dallas

Random Question
Hey guys… I found myself wondering what the half time show will consist of Monday night and I came to two possibilities…
1) Midget wrestling in an inflatable ring
2) Tractor pull
any other possibilites?

Remember, Eagles — when you beat the Cowboys you not only take a huge step towards the playoffs, you also make Jessica Simpson sad.
And that is something the entire county can get behind.

Lito Shuffle
I just talked to VOTS (the Voice of Tx Stadium) and he’s going to slide in a little “Lito Shuffle” over the PA every time Sheppard gets toasted Monday night. That should wear the old Boz Scaggs tune out…Scaggs, old bandmate of Steve Miller and from Dallas!

To say Sheppard shut him down one on one is incorrect.
The Eagles always have a safety over the top on Owens. If the Eagles want to leave Sheppard on an island with Owens I’m sure the Cowboys would love that.

Like I said earlier, do you think they won’t have safeties on Monday night? Whether it was Lito who shut him down or Lito & Friends who shut him down, it doesn’t really mattter.

No, it does matter
That’s where you’re wrong. Sheppard (and every other corner on your team) always has safety help against TO. If that’s what Johnson wants to do Monday Night (that’s probably what’s going to happen), Jason Witten is going to get open all night long. We need not to force it to TO and just run the ball. If y’all get manhandled against the run and Witten is killing the linebackers (I expect this to happen), you will eventually pull the safeties close to the line of scrimmage. That’s when TO gets open one on one against the corners and all hell breaks loose. If you keep the safeties back, then everyone else on our offense is going to make you pay for it

Ok, explain to me this. Didn’t the Cowboys have both TO and Witten in the December 2006 and December 2007 games?
So why did the scenario you describe above not happen in those games?

I'll explain
We abandoned the run in both games. In 2006 with Parcells, we just sucked. In 2007, we obviously didn’t take y’all seriously. We already had a first round bye and Eagles have the worst record in the NFC East. We probably said, “why take them seriously?” We abandoned the run when the score was only a 1, 4 point difference. There is no excuse to run only 14 times against the Eagles defense. Gee, keep throwing and Jim Johnson is going to kill us with the blitz.
And we forced it to TO in both games as well. When its obvious to the whole f***ing world that y’all have safety help on TO, we still throw to him. All ints last game were throws going towards TO. I said it, if we doesn’t force it to TO if he’s not open and we don’t abandon the run, I am not scared of your defense

Did anyone see the Jessica Simpson
Spot on Letterman? She should be prevented from reproducing, she individually brings down the average IQ of whatever group she is close to.
Hey, all you Cowgirls fans, when you lose Monday night, will you still post here? Maybe apologize for being wrong? Maybe apologize for having a homo as your QB??? And a dunce as your Coach? And a mannequin as your owner??
