Three wise men head to Bethlehem
Me and two others have officially set off for Bethlehem, PA home to Lehigh University and site of Eagles training camp. I'll be catching both practices Sunday and staying overnight to catch at least the full morning practice on Monday.
Each evening I'll be updating with a full report of everything I see up there and should include plenty pictures and some video of the goings on. If there's anything or anyone specific you'd like to me focus on to report back about, let me know in the comments.

To be honest I didn’t see a whole lot either way out of Demps. He didn’t get burned or anything, but then again I didn’t notice him making any big plays. That said, he actually did line up with the #1 defense a few times. He and Dawkins seem to get along real well, I saw them talking on the sidelines quite a bit. Dawkins is always leading the team prayer, and I noticed Demps doing the same after the special teams practice in the afternoon when Dawk wasn’t there…
As far as special teams, he fielded a ton of both punts and kickoffs. He’s definitely in the mix for both of those jobs.

Tell us how fast DeShawn Jackson really is, and if he’s really got a shot at cracking the third receiver spot.

For now, Jason Avant looks like the 3rd WR. The guy really does catch everything thrown his way.
Jackson looks quick but it was interesting to see how they used him. He almost always lined up in the slot and ran a lot of these short crossing patterns over the middle. Good news is that none of the corners could cover him in that pattern. He beat his man in every one on one drill they ran. If he can make those catches and get up the field afterward against a live defense we could be in for some stuff.

First, it’s interesting to see how much fun Bradley and the other LBs are having. He and Gaither especially are really vocal out there. As far as hoe he looks, they didn’t do a ton of hitting yesterday but Bradley has his nose in seemingly every play. He’s around the ball a lot.

How'd HBIII look?
Baskett seems to be getting lots of training camp love in the media again and I’m hoping he’s taking a step forward. How’d he look to you?

He’s definitely more of a focus this year and it’s pretty clear how the Eagles want to use him. It didn’t seem like he got one easy pass to catch. Every ball thrown to him was one where he needed to jump over one or two defenders, or it was in the back of the end zone or against the sideline… It looked like every pass was intentionally trying to make him use his height to make a play. He made a couple of good catches.

Is there any competition for Rocca's job this year?
Concretefield can suck it

I don’t know… I put this in the thread above. I thought Richmond McGee looked fantastic punting the ball. He did no holding though, Rocca handled all that which makes me think his job might be safe. McGee was definitely the better punter yesterday though.

Can you fill us in on Gocong
I love Chris because if is size and space eating ability. However he really struggled in the making open field tackles. How did he look, he is an important part of this teams success.

I didn’t notice much from Gocong to be honest. Nothing bad, but I didn’t notice any big plays. To be fair, they didn’t do a whole lot of live hitting so it was hard to get a read on what the LBs are up to. You really need to see the LBs hitting and tackling..
I will say that the three starters, Gocong/Gaither/Bradley all seem to get along really well and looked like they were having a lot of fun. If there was a standout LB yesterday it was Bradley.

Thanks for some objective opinions. I can’t take the sweet taste of PE.com anymore. What is your opinion on Don? Has he really been as great as the reports suggest? It’s amazing how little speculation there has been about him compared to previous years. I love it, I really like it that people are keeping talking about other things.

He’s throwing the ball fine, and looks like he’s moving around well too. Honestly, he looks like McNabb. He’s clearly having fun out there, he;s throwing the ball as hard as ever, he was on target yesterday…
McNabb pretty much always looks great when he’s healthy. I think we’re all just hoping he stays healthy…
