The begining of the end?
...For Dallas that is... Now, I usually stop myself from going back and playing the T.O. card, because, I truly feel that we've moved way past "The Player"'s tenure here, but I read something this morning that peaked my interest a bit. When we got T.O., we probably should have taken the fact that he tore apart San Fran, and caused problems for the team he was ACTUALLY traded to, Baltimore, but we pressed forward with the "Things will be different here mentality". And they were... for a short time. After "The Player"'s release, and his signing with the Cowboys, Eagles fans and the MSM felt it would only be a matter of time before he caused problems in Dallas. Has this prediction started to come to fruition? Possibly.
Up until this point, and to my surprise, T.O. has actually been a good teammate. (I would also point out the incident with the reporter getting hit by the car and T.O. taking action, but I have no doubt he's actually a good guy, just a bad locker room presence). We all remember his heartbreaking, tearfull defense of "his quarterback" after their playoff loss to the Giants.
But, now that T.O. has shown that he can play well with others (and you can take that both ways), he was rewarded not too long ago with the big contract that he had been seeking from the Eagles years ago. So, now that that's all taken care of, will the real T.O. please stand up?
It seems that T.O. has picked his first target on the Cowgirls; namely Jason Garrett and the coaching staff. I guess that now that he got paid, he's free to voice his true feeling regarding their most recent playoff loss; specifically the fact that he doesn't agree with the offensive scheme that was used against the Giants. We, and the Giants, were used to seeing Tony Romo key in on T.O. all game, but he suddenly disappeared that day (previously touched up the G-men for 212 and 4 TDs in two regular season games). Dallas switched to a running based attack that game. Why the change? Well probably because T.O. suffered a high ankle sprain during the final regular season game, and although sources claimed that he was 100%, he probably wasn't. T.O. basically says that Dallas should have stuck with what they did all year and treated him as Philly did in the Super Bowl; that if he's out there, he's 100%. See linky
Now, I know this is only a minor incident, but we all know that the MSM and fans have been waiting for the "I told you so" moment, so it wouldn't suprise me if this issue gets pressed and questions are asked to Garrett and Phillips. Now, let's add to that a slow start by the Dallas and maybe T.O. not getting the ball as much as he feels he should, and we could have a full-on T.O. implosion by midseason...

Ask Bill Parcells and Drew Bledsoe if Jason Garrett is TO’s first target on the Cowboys.
Still, I was hoping we’d get “I’m not the one who went to Mexico right before the playoff game” at some point in the offseason.
I don’t think TO’s changed — I think that to date in Dallas he’s won his battles with the coaching staff.

Tick, tick, tick…
The ’pokes have a soft schedule, but if the Browns can frustrate Romo in week 1, and after “Ocho Numero Uno” gets shut down on Monday night against the Birds, we might see the popcorn hit the fan on 9/16.
