The Big Kid is Back

This morning on the Eagles Live! show on PhiladelphiaEagles.com Dave Spadaro reported that Shawn Andrews has indeed returned to practiced for the first time today. Presumably Andrews will meet the media later this afternoon.

Andy Reid said after the preseason game against the Panthers that he hoped to see Andrews and the other starters on the O-line play in the 3rd preseason game against the Patriots

"You'd like that to happen," Reid said. "If it doesn't, I think we'll be OK since they have played together in years past. If I had my choice, I'd much rather have them do that."

Considering that the starters rarely play in the final preseason game, this next game will pretty much be the last chance for the offensive line to be together before the Eagles take on the Rams on September 7th to open the season.

is anyone else excited to see what our defense can do against an explosive offense like NE? i think this will be a good test for them, and give us a clue as to how good they are gonna be this year. also, i’m hoping to see jackson get a lot of looks and see how he does against an excellent team like NE.

Do you still consider NE offense as explosive?

Just wondering, I really do not like Maroney (he has zero moves, and is not a premier back), and am not in love with the Wide outs. Remember that Stallworth is not there, now Welker is playing the 2, lets see if he can repeat what he did last year getting covered by a cb instead of a lb. Moss is gonna be Moss, but lets keep in mind that Stallworth stretched the field, leaving plenty of space for Welker. It’ll be interesting how this team plays the Eagles.

Honestly, our team should CRUSH NE, a passing offense vs a pass defense. Also, lets compare Phillies offense vs NE Defense. NE has an older LB core, and Eagles look to exploit those LBs and weak secondary with Westbrook, Booker, Jackson.

If this were a regular season game, I would like Philly by 7 points.

I just want everyone to know, I was the only person who felt that Philly was gonna play NE close when we were 21 piont dogs, I knew New England would struggle with the blitz. I also new New England would struggle vs New York. I actually predicted the Giants to win the Superbowl. This is a great matchup game for the birds.

hey guys! Austria is back!
i´m excited about our defense! do you think jackson is gonna get so much playing time like he´s got against the panthers? i don´t think so!
but i think he´ll be a bigger part on our offense than we thought!
i know that you all know better but which rookie has gotten so much reps in his first 2 preseason games than he´s got? i think that andy knows how much talent this guy has and i think he´ll be a big part in our offense! (hopefully i didn´t make too many mistakes)
c ya guys

first of all, i’m proud to have someone like you cheerin for the same team that i cheer for. so i was just curious, what brought you to american football and the eagles? (i sound like pam oliver here but please bear with me)

What brought me to american football? a broadcast station in germany began to show nfl games regularly! it was in 2002 and i watched a few games, and suddenly it was like “hey i love this sport”.
and why the eagles? i liked the eagles the first time i saw them on tv! and so it began!
and now i think i´m the biggest fan here in austria!
