Torn ACL ?!!?!

Mcnabb_medium

Thats right ladies and gents ... torn acl is the question ! I go into surgery on the 23rd at 10am to remove both my meniscus in my right knee which are fully torn and caught in my notches of my bones, causing my knee to dislocate and relocate constantly. They are also causing my pcl to be miss aligned and my acl now has an abnormal contour. I am not a doctor, but that doesnt sound good. I had too much water in my knee on my mri results for the doc to be able to tell if ill need surgery on my acl or pcl but when they scope my knee to remove my meniscus' he said they will be able to see 95 % of my knee so we will have to wait till they are inside. Tommorrow is a key chaptor in my life, and ive got butterflies in my stomache as we speak.

My short term side effects from my meniscus surgery will be a risk of blood clots if not keeping my knee above my heart as much as possible for the next couple weeks. I will gain my mobility back on a daily basis though ! I should be able to function during and complete every day normal tasks.

Long term i am going to have authritis in my knee at the age of 24 for the rest of my life lol. I also may require a knee replacement later on in life and whatever other things it may effect.

I just wanted to write this for those of you who know me and actually give a shit about me lol ! I may or may not be able to make it home to philly fir some games if acl surgery comes into play. ACL will require 6-9 months of recovery as we all know from #5. That is all and please say a prayer and wish me luck !

Good luck, Northphilly. Keep us posted, and if you are laid up for awhile, at least take it as an opportunity to goof off and read about the birds.

Sucks bro, Hope you get better.

Did you hurt it playing ball? If so, don’t worry, you’ll be back like 5 in no time.

Thanks DoodS !

whats up fellas ! ... im good !!! ... a little stiff from the surgery(nothing that oxycodone cant fix) but i got my leg propped up above my heart and I should be moving around like normal tomorrow, they cut the torn pieces of my meniscus’ out and they saw a small acl tear which they want to leave alone in case it can heal overtime … so ill be fine in a couple weeks … but yea my meniscus’s were fully torn so they cut the torn pieces out … i thought they had to remove the meniscus completely but apparently they just had to cut pieces which is cool ! For those of you who dont know what the meniscus purpose/function is , it acts as a cushioning between the knee cap and your bones … so without it them its bone on bone grinding lol so thank god i get to keep most of them … and i apologize if there are spelling errors because i am on lots and lots of oxycodne, which is also why this comment took me about 24 mins to write lol … i fall asleep every 10 words or so lol thanks for your support and prayers !
