Brian Westbrook fires his agent
Not a lot of job security for agents currently employed by members of the Eagles these days... On the heels of the news that Lito Sheppard fired his agent and hired Drew Rosenhaus, Bob Brookover is reporting that Brian Westbrook has also sacked his representation.
A source close to the situation indicated that Westbrook may end up hiring All Pro Sports & Entertainment Inc., the group that includes agents Peter Schaffer and Lamont Smith. That is the same group that represented Sheppard before he hired Rosenhaus earlier this week. Agent John Rickert is also part of the All Pro group and represents Eagles running back Correll Buckhalter, another former client of Fletcher Smith.
Word is that the Eagles are willing to rework his deal, but obviously the two sides are still not close on what that new deal would entail. In a recent interview with the Inky Westbrook was pretty frank about his wishes...
"When I signed my contract with the Eagles 2½ years ago, they paid me for the level of play I was playing at the time," Westbrook said. "I'm not at that level no more. I'm at a higher level of play. There's no question about that. The numbers don't lie. My numbers have steadily increased from that point until now. Now, I'm at the point where I'm one of the elite backs in the NFL, and I should be compensated that way."

If the Birds screw this one up, I will be unconsolable! Pay the man!!!!!! And i think they will, but this better be taken care of before camp.
However, we can all breath a collective sigh of relief that he didnt hire rosenhaus. I think he probably knew better

Does a triple post mean I'm talking to myself?
oh well…
I wonder how long of a contract Bwest wants? Honestly, thats a touchy subject with me. I dont really agree with the guaranteed contract thing. That doesnt resemble life in the real world at all. Its not like they dont make ridiculous amounts of money already. Why should a team have to fork out money for a guy how blew a knee out 4 years ago…
I’m BIG fan of incentive laden deals, but not the huge amounts of guaranteed money.

And let’s not forget that Westbrook is 28. As great as he is, RBs fall off quick…
