Cowboy fans can handle debate, but philly fans just cant

For the last few years, i've bought into this silly notion that philly fans are so rowdy/tough, and able to take criticism.  Then, I write a post questioning the talent of the philly WR's, giving my humble opinion as to why philly will again go nowhere this year.  And to my suprise, my post is erased because the manager of this blog doesnt like what i have to say/cant stand the truth.  So instead of debating me in the arena of ideas, he just simply dismisses my assumptions and calls me a "stupid troll."  By doing so, he makes himself look like a boob and makes philly fans seem soft, whiney and completely unable to debate NYG fans.  So you philly fans have fun kissing eachothers' buns on this blog, and when you have the stones to debate, just look up the pint glass.

You aren’t debating anything. You’re trolling. You did the same on the Cowboys blog. If you had something worthwhile to say, I’m sure people would be happy to debate it.

Get over yourself and grow up.

And just for clarification “Terrell Owens cries and Eagles WRs are teh sucks!” aren’t topics worth debating some 13 years old “in the arena of ideas!” lol.

The same thing happened to you on the Cowboys’ blog site. They even held a poll where people voted overwhelmingly that you are to be ignored because you are an IDIOT. We are staying ahead of your curve, so we won’t go through the same problems that they had. If you had something worthwhile to discuss, we would gladly beat your ass down into oblivion. Go and run your mouth somewhere else, ‘cause here we run you out of town.

The NFC East goes through Philly.

Bring it Giant Boy

No ones scared of you and your corny Giants. Actually I’m happy for your and your GMen, now do you want a “Golden Boogie”. You can gloat all you want this year, and rightlyfully so. You have a championship. But this season starts soon, and you will get your teeth kicked in.

Also, you mentioned that the Eagles have no Wideouts. Granted they do not have a big name Wide Receiver. But last I checked, Kevin Curtis had 77 catches for over 1000 yards. Not bad, I would say. This being on a McNabb off year. The only reasons your Giants got it together is because they are “COPYING” Philadelphias Defense withs Spags as D’ Coordinator. So actually you owe your success to Philly. You should be kissing our “buns” with gratitude. And remember, this Aint Dallas Pappy, this is Philly. You wont find any fans unwilling to show you some brotherly love. I hope you receive a warm BGN welcome from my fellow bloggers.

I read this yesterday

but thought we were still ignoring this asshat … I have no problem debating sports with fellow fans even if they are fans of my rivals. One of my former roomates and good friends is a die hard Giants fan and we debate all the time. But he brings something to the table Pint Glass he doesn’t just make obsurd comments with nothing to back it up. You want to find out how thick skinned we philly fans are get your ass from behind that computer screen and walk into a philly bar talking that trash, good luck walking out.

Fine I'll give you a chance ...

The Eagles have a good WR core. Let’s first look at the team last year, you had McNabb coming off of major knee surgery, ask Carson Palmer about that. Curtis was in his first year in the system and his first year as a number 1 guy, I’d say he performed pretty damn well. Reggie Brown had what was considered a down year but it was not a horrible year just a slow start. Jason Avant Grege Lewis and Hank Basket filled in as needed but we also missed LJ a major part of opening up a lot of these guys. Also we run the west coast offense where the ball gets spread around a lot.

Now lets take a look at the stats buddy here are the Eagles and Giants top 4 Wide Recievers:
EAGLES WR
Kevin Curtis – 77/1110/6
Reggie Brown – 61/780/4
Jason Avant – 23/267/2
Greg Lewis – 13/265/3

GIANTS WR
Plaxico Burress – 70/1025/12
Amani Toomer – 59/760/3
Sinorice Moss – 21/225/0
Steve Smith – 8/63/0

Looks to me like we had 16 more receptions 349 more yards and even on TDs although our offense is clearly more spread out. And I left out B-West our number 3 reciever 90/771/5 but he isn’t technically a receiver but your number 3 was Shockey 57/619/3 so advantage Eagles.

I’m not sure what the young people are saying, but I believe that’s what they call “pwnd”.

Great Line Brian

I had to Google pwnd, I guess I need to start texting more. For those who don’t know what “pwnd” means, this is what I found on google
—-—-—-—-—--
“pwnd”
Tense of pwn.

An internet chat language variety/version of the word “owned”, used in the sence of beating/defeating/outclassing someone. Usually used in games such as Counter-strike or on messageboards when a user posts arguments or insults that can’t possibly be counter-argued.

thanks for the opportunity whodie

philly throws the ball way more than the g-men do, hence the bigger receiving numbers. The only one of the giants receivers who wasnt hurt was amani, which is why the g-men pounded the rock down people’s throats and dont have killer passing numbers. Plax is without a doubt, when healthy, one of the dominant receivers in the league that cannot be handled 1 on 1. Thats really the difference between the two teams, NY has a big, physical number 1 and philly doesnt. Like i said before, when your RB leads the team in receptions, its not a good thing.

we got hank baskett!

How’s the linebacking corps?

Why is it not a good thing? It used to be a bad thing for teams to use anything other than I-Form running formations too. Now, ask your own Giants if that’s still a bad thing. It’s called development, and some teams stay ahead of the curve while others get lucky once in a blue moon.

I wish I had that superbowl you guys just one, but not for a single second would I trade the Eagles for the Giants.

We’ll see how things turn out between our receiving corps once our teams hit the playing field.

Ohandbtw, the Giants passed almost 60% of the time last year, which is approximately in line with the Eagles pass percentage totals. Or did you mean something else?

by Alon on Jul 15, 2008 9:22 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Even if

the giants threw the ball as much as the EAGLES the numbers show they wouldn’t have had as many yards … and if the Eagles ran as much as the G-Women the Birds would have crushed there yardage. Plax is a good receiver when he can push off when he can’t he struggles I think thats what you meant by “when healthy”. Care to try again.

by Whodie126 on Jul 15, 2008 9:58 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

oh

and when your running back leads the team in receptions and you still have a 1,000 yard WR I’d say thats a great thing.

See what I'm talking bout Shot Glass

My man Whodie126 gave you stats. You see, that is debating. What did you bring? You bring “Smack”.

You should be pooping in your Power Ranger underwear from fear. Because you know your Giants sustained some key losses over this off season. All the while, the East is getting stronger. You know its going to be a rough year next year. Lets go over your Key losses:
Kawika Mitchell to the Bills
Gibril Wilson to the Raiders,

Lets see who you brought in
David Carr—-LMAO, he could even be a backup in Carolina.
Danny Clark – Danny who?, granted he had a ok year with the Texans. But not a big pick up
Sammy Knight – a little older, Ok pick up. Posted nice numbers last year. But not great.

If your Giants stopped copying the Eagles, they would suck. Like I said before, you won only because you adopted the Jim Johnson style of Blitz attack Defense. And I will give credit there, its looks pretty darn good. But remember where it came from, Philly baby

i love it, but what you dont realize bro

is that the g-men didnt pick up didly squat last year in free agency. They did it through the draft which is how you are supposed to do it. they draft DB’s while philly spends a rediculous amount of money on them. the g-men have depth coming out of their putookus which is why they dont spend in FA. The giants have always played an aggresive blitzing scheme throughout their history but got a gay DC in their who played soft, which is why he was fired to bring in spaggggs. Spags may have came from philly, but the g-men had the personnel in place already to put the hammer down on mo fo’s.

Lets see if you can actually talk football Mr. Glass

So how exactly are the “world champion” Giants going to recover from the loss of Strahan, the drop in production and wish not to be a giant of Shockey, and the still eratic play of Eli? Will they return to “dominance” if you will, this season? If so, why?

I’m asking a serious question… i am not looking for BS or some kind of cut on the Eagles.

This is your chance at redemption. Answer the question.

Concretefield can suck it

by 700 Level on Jul 14, 2008 6:38 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

you can say "world champion" or "3 time super bowl champion" which ever you prefer...

strahan is a big loss. but tuck will move into take his place (he would have beaten strahan out for the starting job anyway) and kiwi will take tuck’s place. not worried at all about shockey. he is getting old and has been injured since he was drafted. we won the big one without him and Boss has got sticky fingers. eratic play of eli? did you watch the last 2 games of the season and the 4 playoff games? enough said. they will return to dominance because the D is going to be ferocious, we have a punishing RB who teams are clearly intimidated by, an awesome O line who can run the ball on anybody, and Plax who will be unstoppable this year. so now your turn, why is philly going to be ummmmmm dominant?

"the" pint glass

by pint glass on Jul 15, 2008 7:39 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Um-Not enough said

6 games does not a season make. Let me suggest the name Trent Dilfer. The Gint’s won the Superbowl on the strength of their pass rush – and you can thank Jim Johnson for taking Spags on as an apprentice for -what six years or something?...

I won’t go all the way to suggesting that the Eagles will be dominant – an injury to DMac or Trent Cole and we’re looking at 8-8 again, but I think you should carefully examine your squad before you start proclaiming the GMen back-to-back Superbowl champs. For instance, what happens if Reggie Nelson can’t pick up Spags complicated offense?

My personal feeling is that there will be 3 playoff participants from the NFC East this year (and I don’t expect the Redskins to be one of them). Barring injury, I think it’s a coin flip between the Birds and the Boys with both teams finishing around 11-5 – again barring injury. I just don’t see the GMen winning more than 10.

Holy Christ. I’ve been quite busy over the past few days and haven’t gotten a chance to visit the board much, so allow me to retort. You just don’t get it do you? Although I will say that you’ve maybe come a small step by posting a some things that are semi-thoughtful, you still lack hard facts to back up anything you are saying. Everything you posted last night is pure opinion. Why is it a bad thing when our RB leads our team in receptions? Show us some evidence where it has happened with other teams and it lead to failure.

Listen, we understand that this might be a strange time in your life. Your voice is cracking, you’re getting hair in new places, and your shorts get a little tighter when little Carla from down the street walks by. Or maybe it happens when Carl from down the street walks by. Either way, that’s fine, I’m not one to judge peoples’ lifestyles. You probably thought it would be fun to come online and talk football with some guys and I can understand that. I probably would have done the same thing if we had the Internet when I was your age. However, let me give you some advice.

First, show some respect and intelligence. I can’t quote your first abortion you called a post because it has been removed, but if I remember correctly, it was something along the lines of “Philly’s receivers are the sucks. And don’t tell me about DeSean Jackson or Reggie Brown.” Now, you have the largest information resource at your disposal, use it. Why did you pick those two receivers? If you did some research (even on this board), you would have found that most Eagles fans feel Jackson’s primary impact will be on special teams and that he may be worked more into offense during the course of the season. Additionally, why did you pick Brown? All you had to do was look up last year’s stats to find out Curtis was our leading producer at the WR position and it was highly likely that we would think he would have a far greater impact that Reggie Brown. Also, you may have found that most of us think Reggie may have taken a step back last year. Your lack of any thoughtfulness or research demonstrates one thing to me, and that’s ignorance.

If I were you and wanted to be taken seriously, my post would have looked something like, “Hi, I’m a Giants fan. I know you guys picked up a few players in the off-season through the draft and free agency. In my opinion, your most notable signing was Asante Samuel, but you may have failed to address what I feel is your biggest weakness; the WR position. I don’t consider Curtis or Brown top WRs, and more than likely, Jackson will have a limited impact on offense. How do you think the Eagles will overcome this problem?” Now there were no stats in that post, but it at least sounds like someone with the correct number of chromosomes composed it.

I do have some questions for you as well. As other posters have alluded to, it seems that you don’t post at all on the Giants’ site. Why is that? The first board you joined was the Cowboys board and your posts on that site and here far outnumber your lack of post on the Giants’ board. I’ve briefly read some of your posts on the Cowboys board, and you have yet to show that you have any kind of understanding of the NFL in general. Most of your posts are simply digs (sort of) at the opposition. Why is that? Your knowledge of the Eagles and Cowboys is limited, at best. Honestly, use the Internet and look some stuff up. Or better yet, I know libraries are still in existence; visit one.

To me, it seems like your primary goal was to get us to tell you the facts so you could learn. If that was your intention, that’s fine, but there are better ways to go about it. Simply ask. We would have been more than happy to talk (as long as you were respectful when you addressed us).

If you still want to debate with us, we’ll be more than happy. But do us a favor. Ask Jason to delete this thread as well and start a new one. We’ll pretend your first post and this one never happened. In your new post, take some time, do some research and compose something that shows us that you can be taken seriously. Until that point, you’re still just another troll on some board on the Internet.
