Woot. Now all we need to do is sign on McNeese St. as an affiliate farm club.

Yeah, McNeese is pounding out that strong talent pool
I am really interested in seeing this guy. I heard great things about him and Joe Mays from the OTAs. They say he has a quick strong burst just like Trent Cole. He could be one of the draft steals. Or he could turn out being a bust that did well at McNeese. I hope he is as advertised.

DE's?
It’ll be real interesting to see how the Eagles play the numbers game at DE. In my opinion, they are 7 deep at the position, and will probably only carry 5.
T Cole, V Abiamiri, new acquisition fr/the Raiders Clemmons are the 3 locks.
Juqua Thomas-Parker is a good player, but he is on the other side of 30, and a viable trade commodity, given their depth. I had slated Darren Howard as a swing guy between DE/DT, but his off-season conditioning program has been to stream-line, not bulk up… he appears to be competing for a DE spot. Then there’s the guy no one believes in but me, Jerome McDougal… I think he has something to prove. And finally, Mr. Smith.
It’d not be surprising for B Smith to “pull up lame” at some point this preseason, joining fellow defensive “red-shirt” CB Jack Ikeguanou (forgive my spelling there) on the DL to bulk up for a year and learn the “D” a la Chris GoCong.
If not, the Birds have a real interesting numbers situation at DE. Good problem!

I agree on McDougle
I beleive in him a little, even though I don’t really want to. He really hasn’t played bad when he played. He has just been off the field most of his career. We must remember Derek Burgess, he missed a number of years, and people were writting him off. But he came back just in time to play well at the end of the season and score a big fat paycheck in Oakland. I would hate for that to happen to McDougle. He can possibly beat out Parker and Howard for that final spot on DE if he has a good camp, lets not forget, he is a first rounder.
My picks
1. Cole, 2. Abiamiri, 3. Clemmons, 4. Smith, 5 Parker is likely (Howard and McDougle)
It would not surprise me to see the Eagles keep 6 DE (they put a big emphasis on this position) and really don’t have a ton on money invested in it. They can afford to keep six id Dorenbos gets cut and Kris Wilson is the long snapper, or Luke Lawton wins the full back spot/ long snapper.
