NFLs Best Mascot competition

[Note by JasonB, 06/12/08 9:20 AM EDT ] promoted from fanposts

I just read today that CBS Sportsline is doing a bracket for best NFL Mascots. Swoop just  passed Captain Fear of the Bucs. He is currently facing off against Blitz from the Seahawks. It would be nice the see the birds finaly bring one home for us, heck, even if it is Swoop. Anyway, here is the link if anyone wanted to vote.

Also, I wanted to let everyone know that the Cowboys corny mascot "Rowdy" lost in the first round to Freddie Falcon. I was pleased to see that sticking Rat go out quick. Maybe its a foreshadow of what will happen this season.

Go birds

My stepfather is selling his house in VT to a dude who claims to be the original inhabitant of the Swoop suit…

Several weeks ago, I get this weird e-mail from Stepdad saying in total: What’s the Eagles Mascot?
I thought it pretty random, and fired back a link to Swoop’s pic on PE.com.
A couple of weeks later, I asked him about it and got the info – I forget the dude’s name, but my stepfather puts his age somewhere in the mid to late 30’s. I suppose that’s about right for someone who claims to be the creator of “the Eagles Mascot”. When did Swoop show up on the scene? Does he pre-date Lincoln Financial?
What I know for sure though is that Purported-Original Swoop is getting a really sweet house with a huge yard which is great for tossing a football around in, not so great when you go to mow it…

Come to think of it – my stepfather is moving to Seattle – isn’t that Blitz’s territory?
Hummmm…

good for you

Well, at least you eagle fans have the mascot thing to be hopeful about. We have a sixth Lombardi trophy to shoot for this year, and yall have a mascot. Oh yeah, the Cowboys also have two extra bye weeks to look foward too this year. September 15th, and December 28th.

The Eagles won titles many years ago as well. If your ancient history makes you feel better, then good for you.

By the way, what part of Dallas are you from?

I assume by “bye week” you mean that the Cowboys’ offense will take the week off. Kind of like last time they played the Eagles and scored SIX POINTS.

The Eagles have really owned the Cowboys over the past couple years.

11 years big guy!

11 years, no playoff wins… Romo cant get it done in the playoffs… Wade absolutely CANNOT win a playoff game!

We’ll get ours. Depending how old you are you may hardly even remember any of the five trophies you speak of anyway

Of course he remembers them. That’s when he started liking the Cowboys.
