Will the Eagles restructure Lito's deal
Bill Williamson seems to think so ....
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3380011
My question is does he deserve it? ... I think I can speak for everyone when I say if there is one Eagle that deserves a restructuring it would be Brian Westbrook. He has clearly outplay his contract. But Lito has not outplayed his contract if they do restructure I would assume that it will be loaded with incentives. More than likely incentives the Eagles themselves can control, like games started, or they could go with interceptions/turnovers.
I believe that Lito will be an Eagle come the start of the season mainly because of lack of worthy offers. Do they throw him a bone? and if so are they obligated to do the same for Sheldon since they signed similar deals at the same time and Sheldon has been more consistent.

Lito's Deal
It’s interesting that you bring up Westbrook. I think you’re right that he deserves a reworked contract more than anyone. However, the question for management has to be what type of signal is being sent when you renegotiate a contract. If you rework Westbrook’s does Lito get more unhappy? If you rework Lito’s does Sheldon get unhappy?
I think the key here is that Westbrook has set the standard: he’s been breaking franchise records left and right. He has the most yards from scrimmage of any Eagle, most receptions in a single season, etc etc. Lito is a good player but he’s not rewriting the record books. So I think the Eagles would rework Westbrook’s deal and essentially say to the rest of the team: “If you want your deal reworked, do what he did.” By that principle I don’t think Lito’s getting a new deal this year. He just hasn’t done enough to deserve it.

If they re-do Lito's before Westbrook's, 36 is gonna riot.
And he’d be right to.
Why the Hell Not?

I don't think the eagles will restructure anything...
Especially after westbrook said “I signed a contract that was fair at that (time), so there’s no sense in me crying about it now.”

That’s Westbrook being an amazing leader in addition to an amazing player. Lito’s a good player and all, but 36 has been outstanding and isn’t asking for more money.

You are talking about a guy who
Graduated with a degree in MIS from Villanova then went to the NFL making a good amount of money and still went back to school for his MBA. Class act all the way.
