Adarius Bowman?
According to rotoworld, Adarius Bowman (yes that 6'4" 220 WR from OSU) has signed with the Eagles - the link is http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=4660
Unfortunately, he pleaded guilt to weed possession and was given a delayed sentence of 12 months in jail. I'm not sure how this works but if he makes the team, can he serve his term in 3 installments for 4 years? Maybe Joe Banner can send the judge a fruit basket for a reduced sentence or something...
If he really applies himself during camp and realizes his potential, we may have found a real gem here. This guy was considered a top 15 pick before the season and even a potential Heisman candidate. I don't like the way he catches (relies on his body too much instead of his hands) but is very physical and plays fast with pads.

Can't figure this one out
This story came out after the draft and the Eagles denied it. Now it’s surfaced again. I suppose we’ll see if they formally announce it soon

2.3 Grams = 12 Months?
Not to defend the guy but that is crazy sentence for that amount Pot.
Its not even an 1/8th of an ounce which means there is no way they could say he was selling. I don’t know what is going on in Tennessee but for a guy with no prior convictions that is insane.
Very surprised the birds would sign him though.
This is ahead scratcher all the way around.
Hopefully he can work out his legal issues and turns out to be a steal (if we signed him)
The road to victory!

Unfortunately not true
I just spoke to Rick Serritella at NFL Draft Bible.com where everyone got this story from their Undrafted Free Agent Tracker and he said they just found out it was fake. Rick said that he spoke with Bowman’s agent Brian Overstreet and apparently the rumor is false, although the Eagles might still be bringing him in for a workout.
Why can’t the Eagles just make this move to appease fans? It has to be worth a shot for a guy whose only character issue is a single marijuana charge. Anyone remember a certain legal issue Mike Patterson had this off season? I don’t remember us cutting him.
Take a chance Andy.

his only issue? a single marijuana charge?
Let me enlighten you … he was kicked off of the UNC football team for Marijuana issues, which is why he transferred to OSU, so it’s not like this is a first time offense. Not to mention he looked horrible at the senior bowl and ran a 4.74 40. Everybody wants him because this kid is 6’4” 220lbs and he was great … in one year of college, this is ridiculous. Listen he is a sinking ship another kid who is blessed with athletic ability but will end up ultimatley wasting it.

i read the bussness in NC was dropped and that the people at UNC dropped him before all the facts where in. is this correct? plus i thought i aslo saw that 2 out of the three quarterbacks at the senior bowl thought Bowman was the best reciever their which seems like a decent endorsement. but if he’s sitting in a cell for the next 12 months then whats the point, but if there willing to wait for Jack Ikegwuonu why not take risk on Bowman, if the Eagles think he is past this stuff?

No charges were filed that I remember but he and two or three other players were released from the team
Mel Kiper said that he would have been the number 1 receiver in the draft. To bad he had two sub par years at UNC a year off to transfer and then a break out year at OSU which had everyone talking. But he also looked horrible at the senior bowl dropping passes left and right and ran a horrible 40, which we all know is what hurt Malcolm Kelly. I don’t doubt this kids talent but that’s a lot to wish for.

Bowman
This seems like a low-risk, high-reward situation. We’d obviously sign him to a minimal salary. What’s the worst that could happen? Could an undrafted free agent tear apart a locker room? I doubt it. And if he turns out to pull himself together we could get a potential playmaker.

Agreed. No reason not to give him a chance.
