Marcus Monk as a Free Agent Priority.
Come on Birds, take a chance on a big WR.
Please sign Marcus Monk, this guy is a huge WR stud coming off an injury and seems to be fully healed.
Marcus Monk, WR, Arkansas
Height: 6-4. Weight: 222.
Projected 40 Time: 4.64.
Combine 40 Time: 4.57.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.41.
Vertical: 36. Broad 10-2.
Projected Round: 4.
Is Marcus Monk back? While some teams might still be scared of his knees, others may just look at his 4.41 40, 36-inch vertical, 10-2 broad jump and great workout in the drills, and be completely satisfied that he's 100 percent again.
Monk did a solid job at the combine, but his recurring knee injuries will scare away some teams until the later rounds.
A massive receiver but probably needs to run in the 4.5s. Had 50 receptions and 11 TDs despite playing with the SEC’s worst quarterbacking corps.

The pasted section didn’t really come out so well there did it? Follow that link for a quick synapsis from his pro day workout.

Yeah, I read about that guy on NFLdraftcountdown.com. I can’t believe no one took a chance on him. I hope he catches on with someone. I hope he catches on with the Eagles if he ends up doing well.

As a eagles fan who lives in Oregon
I watched many Pac-10 games and can say I am very excited we got Jackson. How long has our returners sucked? I love this pick.

The fact that we got Demps makes me ok with passing on Morgan. I think the talent level is pretty even there, plus Demps was actually much more productive.
As for the WRs… We’ll see. If Desean Jackson becomes one of the elite return men in the game it’s going to be a worthwhile pick… but I’d sure like to see him make a rel contribution on offense as well.

I am super stoked about Demps I think he could turn out to be a real steal.
Not to thrilled about DeSean Jackson as a WR … KR who couldn’t be happy with this. But I hope this chip on his shoulder everyone keeps talking about proves me wrong and he turns out to be a stud.

Eagles draft moves
It’s always initially disappointing when your teams moves out of an anticipated pick.
But frankly, since there was no true left tackle on the board I can’t quibble with the startegy. The Eagles have options at right tackle. Let’s hope Tra Thomas stays healthy this year. The birds should be in a position (with two #1’s) to get a stud in the “09” draft or perhaps deal one of them for a solid veteran tackle.
DeSean Jackson was a nice bonus and I believe the Trevor Laws pick was Andy Reid trying to make up for the Matt McCoy instead of Notre Dame’s Justin Tuck pick a few years ago. Time will tell if Laws makes the grade. Lorenzo Booker, acquired for a 4th rounder from Miami, gives the Eagles a back-up to Westbroook. Throw in some prospects at corner and safety and I give the Eagles a solid C+ to B.

Tackle
Surprised they only took one tackle in the draft but im impressed by the dunlap pick. If that guy can show some talent, he could be our future left tackle. That guy is gigantic. Reminds me a lot of William thomas.

Free Agent Signings?
Any word yet on free agent pickups? There were a number of OLB/DE guys left undrafted that the Eagles can’t seem to get enough of these days.

I made that up
Eagles Undrafted Free Agent Signings
Not on the list but I also heard they signed Adarius Bowman, who was recently arrested for possession of Marijuana
