Jet's Trade

My buddy is a Jet's fan and apparently there are some rumors swirling about the Jets trading their 6th pick for our 19th and Lito Sheppard. This would allow the Eagles to draft Branden Albert. The Jets know the Patriots want Albert and would cause this not to happen. Is Albert that good? does anyone really know that much about him. From what I have read and seen he doesn't seem like a must have type of guy.

No freaking Way...
Albert should be on the board for #19. Clady, Williams, and Long are all Tackles. Why draft a Guard to change his position. If Patriots want Albert, just draft Williams and Trade Lito for a 2nd rounder. I would be pissed off if they did this.

If they trade to #6, they better get Gholston!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peter King
Thinks that Albert is over hyped by the media.
23. Pittsburgh. G/T Branden Albert, Virginia. Might have gotten overrated in the pre-draft media mayhem; I saw him as high as five in one mock draft. The Steelers have to draft two or three offensive lineman to address a position group that lost its best two players (Jeff Hartings, Alan Faneca) the last two offseasons and isn't as good as its reputation right now.

I think he might fit well into what the Eagles like to do though.  He supposedly projects as a tackle, but he's played his college career as a guard - 2 positions covered in 1 fell swoop.  I have read that the reason he declared as a junior is that he's the best Guard in a relatively weak group.  If the front office wants him and have a willing suitor with the J-E-T-S, this one doesn't seem like too much of a reach to me.  Perhaps throw in Robertson as well and now we're really talking
cheers

Not Bad
Lito and the #19 for the #6 and Robertson thats not too bad at all. The only way the Jets trade the #6 is if Gholston is already gone. The Jets want him pretty bad.

thing is...
if you believe that supposed new chart and you equate Lito to DeAngelo Hall, then:
That's really not too much of a reach.
This morning I was totally joking, but it might work especially if we go #19, Lito and a fifth...

A great move
The Eagles may not be trying to draft Albert to move him to tackle, but have remained consistent that Andrews was drafted to play tackle and would like to move him out of his guard position. They could be drafting Albert to play his guard spot. Truth is it's a great move if they can do it. It gives you versatility on your o-line which is almost impossible to find. You have a guy like Shawn Andrews who was a beast as an Tackle in college drafted and forced to play guard and he excelled to pro bowl levels. You now bring in a guy who is a beast at guard and is projected to be a beast at tackle and this gives you flexibility in case Max Jean-Gilles OR Winston Justice don't pan out. I would LOVE to see the Eagles do this.
