Behind enemy lines
I answered some questions for MSG.com about Sunday's Eagles/Giants game. I answered more questions over on Big Blue View.

Dallas......
They did what they were suppposed to do the last two weeks….beat below average teams. The real test for them comes this week. When the Steelers shut down Barber and the Cowboy’s running game like the Giants did (admitedly that was easy with Johnson at quarterback) we’ll see if Romo can make it happen through the air.
Frankly I would have expected Roy Williams to have helped their passing game a lot more than he has. To me, at least so far, he isn’t worth the high price they paid for him. Jerry Jones is a piss poor excuse for a GM.

I like your screen name
even though i hate the giants, i can appreciate any fan who is with a team through thick and thin!
an Eagles fan should be an Eagles fan during an 0-16 season

Thanks....
A lot of kids like the same teams their fathers did but my dad was a big Packer fan while I lived and breathed Giants. Back when I grew up all the neighborhood kids played sandlot baseball and tackle football every chance we got. We pretended to be playing the championship game every day after school. Maybe that’s why we were skinnier than today’s youth who play nothing but video games….but that’s another story.
In the fifties baseball was much more popular than the NFL. And nothing was as exciting as watching the World Series. All the series games were played during the day, and the world practically stopped as everyone found an excuse to be off work or rush home from school to see the games on TV. I don’t know why but it just seemed more exciting to see the games in daylight.
Anyway, I started watching the Giants in 1957 and watched the famous overtime game in 58 (by the way, they have colorized it and are showing it on ESPN in a week or so.) and though I always pulled for the Giants… that game made me a permanent fan.
Of course in the sixties my dad (the Packer Fan) was right there busting my chops during the slaughter the G-Men suffered in the 61 championship game with Green Bay. I actually cried I was so pissed and gave him teh old “wait till next year” but the Packers won again. After that I was hooked. Like a lot of fans I suffered for years until the team finally came back. But I can truly say that I have been a fan since 57.
Sorry for the long post. I’m looking forward to a good game today.

Roy Williams has been disappointment most of his career. In a pass first team that hasn’t won many games but put up passing numbers he’s had one good year.

Roy Williams = over-priced Reggie Brown (and we saw where Reggie played on Sunday)
World F*ckin' Champions, indeed...
