Due to poor ticket sales, Vikings playoff game could be blacked out locally
Wow... It's a playoff game Vikings fans.
The Vikings announced they have about 11,000 tickets left for Sunday’s first-round playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles at the Metrodome. Under NFL rules those tickets need to be sold by 3:30 p.m. Thursday to avoid a blackout of the game, which is scheduled to be aired locally on KMSP (Ch. 9). However, Steve LaCroix, the Vikings vice president of sales and marketing and chief operating officer, said the team already has asked the NFL for a 24-hour extension until 3:30 p.m. Friday.
Reports say that the NFL is likely to grant the extension. It would be pretty amazing if a playoff game were blacked out in a team's home market.

Hilarious ... that is pathetic if this were Philly they would be trying to figure out a way to add seats tickets would be gone so fast.

Correct
The first game of the Andy Reid era was blacked out vs the cardinals. The game where Brian Finneran either dropped a pass or had it go off of him and a Cardinal caught it. We ended up losing that game as a result of the play. He got cut afterwards. Also, in 1989 the Eagles had a somewhat hard time selling out our home playoff game vs the L.A. Rams. Though, beer sales were banned due to the snowball incident vs the Cowgirls. I am new to this blog, but it is awesome. Jason and the other contributors do a great job on here. You people make the Eagles experience all the more better, thank you.
p.s. does Jason Avant’s play remind anyone of Greg Garrity?

New Rule
Seriously, aren’t there any viking fans out there?? Someone slipped up on their job.
I think NFl needs a new rule. If there aren’t enough ticket sales for playoff games then the difference between how much money has been made vs the total amount to televize the game should be deducted from the president/vice president of sales and marketing’s salaries!!!!!!!!!!
Why should we be penalized?
This would NEVER happen in Philly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My idea for the rule... read my signature
If you can't sell out a playoff game, should you lose the right to have a home game?
