Just gonna throw the flier out there...

I don't follow the AFC too much and I doubt many of you do, and I take Pro Bowl selections with a grain of salt, but one situation caught my interest.  It seems that Albert Haynesworth's contract will be up at the end of the seaon.  He has four clauses built into his contract and if he was able to complete all four, the Titans agree not to slap him with the franchise tag.  Wanna know what the last one was?  Make back to back Pro Bowls...  and he did as of yesterday.  The Titans will still have exclusive negotiation rights until Feb 27th, but after that he's fair game...  I like our D and all, but you can't honestly tell me that it would hurt us to have him.  I saw a play in the highlights the other day where he took on the center and both guards at once; freeing two LBs to shoot up the gaps...  insanity.

Pipe dream?  Probably...  but i just thought I'd throw it out there.

I would love Haynesworth.

I wonder if I can bill Jeff Lurie and Peter Angelos for the years of therapy their teams are going to put me through.

Let's see what is up with his knee first.

Plus I don’t know if he is worth the risk, he tried to attack a teammate with a pole in college, stomped Gurodes face in, slammed Jones-Drew to the ground. I mean I’m all for hard working players but I like class too.

More info please… first i’ve heard of this… and yeah i understand your point about the lack of class… just throwin the feeler out there

But T.O. and his sideline histrionics wear on a quarterback. He's like the hot stripper you tried to clean up and convert into a real girlfriend. It's a lot of fun until the moment she has her second drink while out to eat with your parents. You unravel quicker than she does.

Haynesworth’s previous problems had been hidden from attention because they took place in practice. As a sophomore at Tennessee, he fought with a teammate and left practice, returning with a long pole looking for tackle Will Ofenheusle before coach Phillip Fulmer stopped him. He was suspended for a half of a game.

Linky Actually more stuff in there that I didn’t know about seems he likes to fight at practice because no one hears about it.

This would be nice

But it’d give us some type of record for number of DTs taken in the 1st/2nd round.

Actually

We probably already have that record.

I think DT are the kind of players who have pretty short useful careers. I mean did anyone really miss Walker when he got traded, or Simon for the money he got paid? I also think DT is one of the easier positions to play out of college, so drafting them early and paying them little money while their young just makes sense.

But would JJ want him?

Haynesworth is a beast, but he’s a classic 2-gap tackle… and we all know how Jim Johnson loves his 1-gap guys who can get in the backfield and wreak havoc. All told, he’s probably more valuable to a team using a system that highlights his strengths.

he would be great since our dline is pretty small and to add a bigger buy to plug it up would be absolutly GREAT, look at the first skins game the 4th and 3 our dline got pushed back way back so to fight bigger lines and help on goalline and less than 1 situations he would be a great add on our team

Nice As Ice

So there’s that to consider!
