Playoff Picture Scary

The Eagles still need a loss from either Tampa Bay or Atlanta in the next 2 weeks. The scary part is, if both teams win this week, both teams have very easy matchups next week:

Atlanta  vs. St. Louis

Tampa vs. Oakland

The good news: both teams have battles with teams still in the Playoff hunt this week.

Atlanta plays the Vikings, who are trying to Clinch the NFC North this week.

Tampa plays the Chargers, who can keep their playoff hopes alive with a win and a Bronco's loss, as they play the Broncos in week 17. The good news: SD plays before Denver, so it is impossible for a Denver Win to take the fight out of SD.

My question is:

vikings = NFC north

Honestly i’m very optimistic! I actually could see both the Falcons and TB losing. Eventually the Chargers will have to put a good game together… why not this week

If the Vikings game were in ATL, i’d be more concerned. We will find out how Ryan does with the silent count, because it will be crazy LOUD in the metrodome sunday

Seriously.
I really like that San Diego is still alive and Tampa is beat to hell.
Rivers (though an ass) should be able to engineer points against the Tampa D.

too bad his passes float in the air forever… i could take a nap while waiting for them to return to earth

But T.O. and his sideline histrionics wear on a quarterback. He's like the hot stripper you tried to clean up and convert into a real girlfriend. It's a lot of fun until the moment she has her second drink while out to eat with your parents. You unravel quicker than she does.

Vikings

I get the sense, after watching their dismantling of the Cardinals, that the Vikings are not content to rest on their laurels for the last two games. By thumping Arizona, they proved that they belong in the playoffs just as much as anyone, and they’re not gonna take it easy for the rest of the season just because they’re going to win the division. Therefore, I say the Vikes will be the ones to help us out. San Diego doesn’t have anything to fight for, and the Falcons are a hungry team, so don’t expect Norv Turner to do us any favors (when will teams stop hiring this man as a head coach?!).

That is not a given. They’re one up in the division with two to play. They need to beat ATL. They are tied with Chicago head to head (first tiebreaker) and only up one in the division (second tiebreaker) Chicago has one more division game (GB at home). The Vikes last game is against the Vagiants, who may be playing for home field advantage. Bottom line: The ATL game is HUGE for the Vikings. If they lose the last two, they could be golfing in January.

Vikings

If the Vikings beat the Falcons and the Panthers beat the Giants, the Vikings will play the Giants for the last first round bye. The winner becomes the #2 seed and the loser the #3 seed.

Minnesota only has a game on Chicago so I don’t see how they could rest at all. San Diego is 2 games behind the Broncos but they play the last game of the season so this is a must win for them. These teams are not going to lay down.

Vikings

I think if the Vikings win they win the North. More reason for them to kick the crap out of Atlanta.

YEah I agree. ONe has to lose next week for us to get in.

One thing is for certain: if we win out and don’t make the playoffs, that tie was the reason. We would have won the tie breaker with the Falcons.

Not to mention if the Cowboys lose to Baltimore

and the Ravens are no gimme.

I could care less if the Cowboys win this week. We still have to beat them in week 17, and I don’t care if the Cowboys are the other wild card or not.

actually

i kind of hope they win this week and ATL loses so that the week 17 matchup is HUGE!

can you imagine the media frenzy if that happens!

Did

anyone watch that ATL TB game last week??? These two teams are a heaping pile of FAIL. I think at one point ATL went nine posessions without a score. Each three and out posession on both sides made it seem like they wished the other team would just score and get it over with. I think both the Vikes and the Chargers want it more and will win…at the very least one of those games will go our way there’s just not much fight in either ATL or TB.
