For a Browns perspective check out Dawgs by Nature
Did you know?
Brian Dawkins will play his 181st game in an Eagles jersey which is a franchise record.
Bottom line
It's a must win, they all are from here on out. The 4-9 Browns have lost 4 straight, we've won 2 straight against 2 playoff teams. We're at home... There's no excuses. The Eagles are overwhelming favorites(+14.5!) and if they turn in the same effort tonight as they did against the Giants they should win this game big.
But as always without our Eagles... we never know what team will step on the field. A big win tonight would show the consistency we've been wanting all year.

What’s everyone drinking tonight? some left over Labatt Blue some friends left at my house for me, nothing tastes better than free beer.

How big is having Curtis back?
His second half numbers have been good. It’s like what Reggie Brown does in a season and a half.

The Playcalling
FB has the damn chart again. Notice how the quickly the run was abandon
ed inside the 10? Let’s hope for more running (balanced playcalling?) on this drive.

Working?
Not when it results in 3 inc’s and a field goal it’s not. This team struggles the closer they get to the endline, and the more the area of field decreases that the opponent needs to cover.
Nice catch
but he can’t be Santana Moss and run backwards.

Andy
letting McNabb call more audibles? I’ve heard quite a few so far.
"I need to do a better job of putting players in the right position to perennially come up short of expectations"
Audibles
would explain some of the passing. And yes, nice run, good calll. Time for the line to start imposing its will.
Fuck
hey that was a hell of an INT though.
"I need to do a better job of putting players in the right position to perennially come up short of expectations"
Ah, yes.
Not only a pass, but a dumb pass. Yay. Much better than manning up and driving the Browns into the endzone. sigh.
Really you are blaming Reid for a players decision?
"I need to do a better job of putting players in the right position to perennially come up short of expectations"
you realize they go score a td
and this game is tied…. there is NO WAY we don’t get at least 3 there. unacceptable.
Yes, I'm blaming playcalling
The calls inside the 10 on the last two drives were pass heavy and atrocious.
I hate any play that has anyone but the QB throw the ball. HB options, reverse passes, that play… It leads to bad things far more than good.
Yeah, that would irritate me less if it was a fake QB draw by McNabb. At least they wouldn’t have been waiting for a trick play.
Samuel peaking in the backfield, gets beat.

Probably about the same odds that one team would twice have a FG blocked for a TD just before half time and go on to win.

Yeah, if he wasn’t a player I don’t know what he would be doing on the field. Because he certainly is not a Ref.
lol…like when announcers talk about what great ‘football’ players they are and when they run the ‘football’ instead of just the ball.

Reid: The next motherfucker who drops a ball before he’s through the back of the endzone is going to do laps with Runyan on his back until they both lose 20 pounds.
dude we lose another guard or two
and we may have to put Reid into the game ;-)

"I need to do a better job of putting players in the right position to perennially come up short of expectations"
No you have to pass. A failed sneak means the end of the half. A failed pass presumably means a FG… of course that’s not how it worked out…
as an NFL team with a QB the size of McNabb if you can’t sneak for inches you should be ashamed of yourself.
"I need to do a better job of putting players in the right position to perennially come up short of expectations"
I’ll add I understand what you say but especially at 17-3 you take the risk.

It's not the score alone
This is a run for the playoffs. With calls like this, do you really see them making any noise in the postseason? Where they won’t be playing the Browns?
its frustrating
that mcnabb should have 3 td passes and this game should be 21-3… but w/e.
after half time im sure Andy Reid will give them an earful
and if it worked
you would be saying what a great call it was.. The call was fine, it was just not executed
E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!
Eh, I would still say risky call
Why not try a quick slant? That’s a higher percentage play in that situation right?
show me the stats
show me the stat that fades are more often interception than slants. until then you’re just grabbing
come onnnn
In the NFL you gotta run the fade route. Don’t you think scrapping the fade route from the Eagles’ red zone playbook would make the job, well, easier for the Defense? come on!
I'm not saying scrap it
It’s worked in the past. Just in that situation when you have 9 seconds left and can still get a FG. It’s too risky!
I agree
That is a high percentage play. The QB just has to make the call. A well thrown fade is impossible to pick. A well thrown fade is either caught by the WR or goes out of bounds.
good point, ajay, but....
but mcnabb should have thrown it so its either a TD or out of bounds…
reminder
The Phillies won a championship. Thought that’d cheer you guys up.
Y’know, I’m not too upset, the first pick was from Jackson…come on. And the FAde in that position was great, we just got it jumped that’s all. In fact, it was a great play by westbrook and company to stop the td.
mac
should have thrown an actual jump ball.
It was off the mark.
had he put it UP it’d’ve been a TD or a FG

We’re fortunate to not be down by more; Eagles’ red zone miscues are the difference in it being just two scores.
We just hope to see some of Cribbs throwing the rock already…
Dawgs By Nature - Find out why Pittsburgh still sucks.
the browns aren't really THAT bad..
were making them look that bad…
they scored two fieldgoals in their first 2 possessions against the titans D..
we’re not playing that bad… were not playing GREAT.. but good enough..
don’t worry guys they’ll get it together, games like this make you prone to little mistakes, its no biggy… good think the browns CB’s ate those extra curly fries at arby’s
BTW, I need the Eagles’ defense to get me three more points in my fantasy league. Think you guys can rough up Dorsey a bit? ;)

I don’t know if this’s been discussed (dog needed out), but I wanted to note that on Asante’s TD…
1) He dropped the ball outside of the end zone on purpose.
and,
2) after he picked it up – he celebrated (by himself) like DeSean and Quentin.
I’m behind again (out till next commercial)
