I need your help/opinion. I received a phone call today from a woman stating she is from the office of the Philadelphia Eagles and that I won the X's and O's of Diabetes contest which includes a Meet & Greet with a player and a coach, a tour, some eats and other stuff which I can't remember because I was driving at the time and my 6 year old was yapping in the backseat to turn up the radio. Is this one of my jerk-off Giant fan friends playing joke or did I actually win? There is nothing posted on their site yet but she said I would receive an email shortly and the event would be held in February.

I checked my caller ID on the house phone and evidently they called that first. It’s legit because it read Philadelphia Eagles Football, my cell just showed a number 215-339-6709.

That has to be legit. A reverse lookup of that number does not come up as cell or residential. Furthermore, that number is listed here, on the Eagles website. Claim your prize dude!

Just because the caller ID states Philadelphia Eagles football, doesn't mean its ligit.

There are phishers all over the place who can spoof caller Id and email address. YOU SHOULD NEVER, EVER RETURN A CALL THAT YOU DID NOT EXPECT. The prudent thing to do would be to go to www.philadelphiaeagles.com and look for a main number you can call. Then explaine your situation to the rep, they should have a promotions department they can transfer you to if needed. But I wouldn’t just call a number on my caller ID. Its too easy to fake that, you can get scammed into talking into someone who is not an Eagles associate and give them vital personal information that can lead to identity theft.

Go. What’s the worst that can happen? You show up at the Novacare complex and your asshole friend is mooning you?

Now, you’ll probably get to meet the special teams assistant quality control coach and Matt Schobel, but that’s still better than no meet and greet at all.

I wonder if I can bill Jeff Lurie and Peter Angelos for the years of therapy their teams are going to put me through.
