Plaxico Burress shoots himself in the leg

Jay Glazer

Plaxico Burress' controversial year has just taken a turn for the worse.

The New York Giants wide receiver accidentally shot himself in the leg on Friday night, FOXSports.com has learned, not long after being ruled out of Sunday's game against the Redskins with a hamstring injury.

He spent the night in the hospital and the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The team is still trying to gather further information on the incident.

Wow. I suppose this means Burress, who always plays well against us, will miss next week's showdown with the Giants in North Jersey.

i mean really

does it get any stupider than this?
nfl athletes + clubs of ANY sort = trouble

i can’t imagine what the giants coaching staff and owners feel at this time. imagine paying millions of dollars to have a WR play for your team and he goes and does this silly s-hit.
*slaps forehead

his career is finished.

4th and 26!!!!

not meaning to sound racist...

but your equation may be more suitably “black pro athletes + clubs = trouble”.

While white athletes are not angels by any means you just don’t hear about this kind of stuff with them, or very rarely in comparison. What is it with black guys and guns? And posses and gang mentality and all that other crap that goes with them? I hang with a lot of black guys at work and this kind of stuff pisses them off too, and propagates an undesirable stereotype they’re constantly having to deal with.

On another note, wouldn’t Burress’ playing with firearms constitute a breach of contract? I hope so. Nobody that stupid should make that kind of money.

“not meaning to sound racist” + “What is it with black guys and guns?” does not compute.

haha

Look, our star RB is nowhere near 100%, our backup RB is out, and our 3rd string RB goes down when defenders blow in his general direction.

when i read the title i didn't think it was literal

i read it literally, then i thought, “probably just saying he messed up big this time”. then i read the article and was stunned that the title was literal, not figurative.

A Game

Let’s play one: imagine what the first thing Plaxico said was when he looked down and saw he had shot himself in the leg.

I’ll start: “Oh well, who needs 10 toes?”

PFT is reporting that he was not licensed to carry a concealed gun in NY…so he is facing 3.5 years of jail time.

Heh yeah. That’s what we’d be facing. He’s facing a few years of probation.
