The story of 6 QBs Part 2
Ok so with all out QB controversy I have came up with a little comparison. Here is 6 different QB both past and present in which most of them if not all will be Hall of Fame QBs. I took the first 10 years of each of their careers and lined them up against each other.
| Games | Comp. | Att. | Pct. | Yards | YPG | TD | Int | |
| QB1 | 140 | 2993 | 4931 | 60.7% | 34706 | 247.9 | 255 | 155 |
| QB2 | 123 | 2424 | 4132 | 58.7% | 28174 | 229.05 | 185 | 89 |
| QB3 | 151 | 3159 | 5284 | 59.7% | 39502 | 261.60 | 300 | 165 |
| QB4 | 85 | 1926 | 2959 | 65.1% | 24008 | 282.44 | 152 | 100 |
| QB5 | 130 | 2524 | 4517 | 55.9% | 29878 | 229.83 | 153 | 154 |
| QB6 | 144 | 2475 | 4336 | 57.1% | 30216 | 209.83 | 158 | 157 |
| TD per Game |
Int per Game |
Sacks | Sacks per Game |
Rate | Super Bowl Wins |
SB By Retire |
|
| QB1 | 1.82 | 1.10 | 299 | 2.13 | 77.7 | 1 | NA |
| QB2 | 1.50 | 0.72 | 316 | 2.56 | 85.3 | 0 | NA |
| QB3 | 1.98 | 1.09 | 153 | 1.01 | 88.2 | 0 | 0 |
| QB4 | 1.78 | 1.17 | 210 | 2.47 | 84.8 | 1 | NA |
| QB5 | 1.17 | 1.18 | 257 | 1.97 | 78.7 | 0 | NA |
| QB6 | 1.09 | 1.09 | 325 | 2.25 | 72.9 | 0 | 2 |
So there are some numbers of 6 very good and very well known QBs but 10 years doesnt mean much. this is a tough game and its all about what you've done for me lately so i have came up with that stat too. here is the last 3 years of each QBs 10 years. so thatis season 8 9 and 10
| Games | Comp. | Att. | Pct. | Yards | YPG | TD | Int | |
| QB1 | 48 | 1026 | 1726 | 59.4% | 12115 | 252.39 | 73 | 62 |
| QB2 | 35 | 706 | 1189 | 59.4% | 8741 | 249.74 | 51 | 23 |
| QB3 | 48 | 954 | 1634 | 58.4% | 11649 | 242.68 | 70 | 40 |
| QB4 | 26 | 631 | 994 | 63.5% | 7507 | 288.73 | 44 | 31 |
| QB5 | 42 | 908 | 1558 | 58.3% | 10678 | 254.23 | 53 | 50 |
| QB6 | 44 | 710 | 1269 | 55.9% | 9021 | 205.02 | 38 | 43 |
| TD per Game |
Int per Game |
Sacks | Sacks per Game |
Rate | |
| QB1 | 1.52 | 1.29 | 106 | 2.20 | 80.2 |
| QB2 | 1.45 | 0.65 | 82 | 2.34 | 88.8 |
| QB3 | 1.45 | 0.83 | 70 | 1.45 | 84.5 |
| QB4 | 1.69 | 1.19 | 57 | 2.19 | 88.3 |
| QB5 | 1.26 | 1.19 | 77 | 1.83 | 77.0 |
| QB6 | 0.86 | 0.97 | 124 | 2.81 | 73.2 |
What do you think? who are thes QBs? who do you like? who is overrated? who should be let go from their respective team at that time? who would you trust more to lead the eagles into the next few years of the rebuilding process?
That was the nformation that was given and the pole showed that.
8% wanted QB1
35% wanted QB2
29% wanted QB3
23% wanted QB4
0% wanted QB5
2% wanted QB6
and this was supposed to be based on performance although some peaple im sure did it based on who they thought McNabb was whether it be for better of for worse.
And before i actualy anounce who every QB was i will first show one last set of stats.
In the 12th game of that 10th season i each QB has done....
| Comp. | Att. | Pct. | Yards | TD | Int | Sacks | Rate | |
| QB1 | 31 | 51 | 60.8% | 267 | 1 | 3 | 3 | 56.6 |
| QB2 | 27 | 39 | 69.2% | 260 | 4 | 0 | 1 | 121.7 |
| QB3 | 26 | 42 | 61.9% | 259 | 1 | 1 | 5 | 77.4 |
| QB4 | 18 | 30 | 60.0% | 169 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 83.9 |
| QB5 | 27 | 41 | 65.9% | 343 | 3 | 0 | 3 | 116.2 |
| QB6 | 20 | 29 | 69.0% | 210 | 0 | 3 | 2 | 50.1 |
Now looking at those states it is now clear who McNabb was and as many of you guessed it was #2. but here is the list
QB1-------- Brett Favre
QB2-------- McNabb
QB3-------- Dan Marino
QB4-------- Kurt Warner
QB5-------- Kerry Collins
QB6-------- John Elway
now i picked these people because i first though of people who said McNabb was past his prime and all the while Favre Collins and Warner are much older and are playing incrdible. i also decided to throw in two other HOF QBs to even things out and show any doubters how good #5 really is.
However i must be hounest i didnt know how this would go as i was doing this. but when it worked out that McNabb was nost likely on the same level as Marino and Favre and even much better then Elway i was surprised.
One thing i did notice is that alot f these QBs had a slump period around this same time in their career. its odd but its ot just McNabb.
Now since you know who's who what do you think. McNabb did beat out people like Favre Elway and Marino. thats amazing amung its self but to top that off he did it without finishing this season. in the 10 season McNadd only had 11 games because thats what he played so far, while everyone else had the full 16 games.

wooow man… great post bro, realy a great post
Look, our star RB is nowhere near 100%, our backup RB is out, and our 3rd string RB goes down when defenders blow in his general direction.

thanks alot man
i just hope the front office sees it and keep McNabb

whether we keep him will be largely due to cap space and how we finish this season . beating ARI is one thing, beating the skins, dal, and wsh is another…

isnt the skins and wsh the same team?
Look up... get up...Don't ever, ever give up!!

Thoughtful post, Nick
I do agree with Joe_D. Beating AZ and St. Louis is one thing, beating a team from the NFC East is another. We need to see a performance like Thursdays in big games vs. NFC East opponents.

dont forget
alot of great QBs lost to devision rivals and hada poor season and if their teams gave up on them then Favre and elway would of never had their Super Bowl rings

Very nicely done, it puts what most people care about (production) in a very objective form.

Take a look at the career of Elway. Similar to McNabb, he had a lot of success early in his career, going deep into the playoffs but never able to win the big one. It took him 8 years (‘89 – ’97) to get back to the superbowl and finally win it at 37 years old. During that span, the Broncos had seasons of 5-11, 8-8 (2 times), 9-7 and7-9. I am curious if Denver fans were calling for Elway’s head the same way some Eagles fans are now calling for Donovan’s? One notable difference between their 2 careers was that Denver was not afraid to make coaching changes. After Reeves left in ’92, Wade Phillips got 2 years before Shanahan finally took over in ’95.

if you look at elways career
honestly McNabbs is way better and more successful

what a shocking statistic
guess who leads the league in dropped passes folks?
The Eagles do.
1) Philadelphia – 28
2) Cleveland – 27
3) Denver – 25
4) Indianapolis – 25
You know what’s hilarious? If you take away…let’s say 12 drops from that number….(1 for each game that’s been played) McNabb’s completion percentage is 62.4%. And then the pundits would say how accurate McNabb’s been this year…blah blah blah…
Drops are part of the game. Understood. Pro Bowl receivers like Braylon Edwards and Terrell Owens are usually towards the top of the lists in dropped balls. But the difference is….drumroll please…they’re good receivers. And, usually, the drops are made up for by, I don’t know, touchdowns, receptions, thousands of yards…
Things that Eagles receivers do NOT make up for.
So before someone jumps all over the Colts being among the leaders…and Peyton’s their quarterback and blah blah blah….I’d take their top 3 WRs, TE and 2 RBs over the Eagles any day of the week.
In conclusion: our sucky WRs, RBs, TEs dropping the ball hurts. Especially a team that’s 6-5-1 and “right there” for a playoff push.
And forget the effect on McNabb. That’s hard to calculate, anyway. It’s the team that suffers.

wow man
bitter a bit?
i dont know but since his rookie season Adai hasnt done much i would much rather have westbrook and as for recivers jackson will do just fine. look give him time and i bet you you will ee him play alot like harrison. the only differance is he is what like 10 years younger?
by NickPampani on Nov 30, 2008 6:45 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
nick are you kidding
if i had the chance to switch reggie wayne, marvin harrison, anthony gonzalez, dallas clark, joseph addai, dominic rhodes with
desean jackson, kevin curtis, jason avant, lj smith, brian westbrook and correll buckhalter…
I’d take the Colts lineup in a SECOND.
McNabb with Wayne, Harrison and Gonzalez? C’mon man. Addai is struggling this year, but has still managed nearly 600 yards and 5 TDs.
He’s also rushed for more than 1,000 yards the last two seasons.
I disagree. but hey. one hell of a post.
by damonmoore43 on Nov 30, 2008 7:44 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
thnaks for the complement
but yeah they are a better line up but harrisons almost gone and i would rather have westbrook then addai. Rhodes for buck is clost to an even trade wyane is far far far better then curtis as well as clark for LJ.

if you are willing to give up Westy that quick I question your Eagles fanhood.

stats are overrated
Elway won 2 superbowls. Farve has one and Warner has one. Does that not make elway the top QB on this list. Isnt this game about winning championships?
Lets keep Mcnabb and ditch Andy Reid. that is our best shot. Maybe we can lure andy away with a coupon the the old country buffett?

elway won them at the end of his career….mcnabb isn’t that far into his career yet.
by eagleyosh on Dec 1, 2008 1:22 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
i agree psuaar to an extent...
but i think out of elway, favre and warner…it’s almost certain to be ranked as following:
1) favre
2) elway
3) warner
just because favre, despite his penchant for INTs and “whatever” happens-type throws — he still put together an extraordinary run from like 94-98 – where he won an NFL record 3 MVPs – and that has to count for something….
but you ask yourself what could any 3 of these quarterbacks do without franchise-leading/all-pro/pro-bowl receivers and running backs?
I think if we can on one hand agree that Elway would NOT have won the Super Bowl (s) without Terrell Davis, and that Warner would NOT have won a Super Bowl without Faulk, Bruce, Holt….we should then not CONDEMN and BLAST Donovan for not having won a Super Bowl with scrubs on his team.
I don’t know, I feel like I make this point too often but nobody cares because everyone just wants to win a ring and don’t care what it takes to actually get it done.
So, unfortunately, Donovan’s legacy will be “he didn’t win a Super Bowl with the Eagles,” he didn’t know a game ended in a tie, he threw up and was 3 INTs during the Super Bowl and he let Terrell ruin him.
instead of….the Eagles best QB of all-time that was never surrounded with weapons to win the BIG DANCE.
