When the season is over ...
and we look back at this there will be 2 possibilities. If we turn things around and do well throughout the end of the season this will have been the wake up call. If we do not and continue to suck, this will be the driving steak that ruined our teams moral and our season. Either way I for one think it was a wise decision, I've played competitively in sports throughout my entire life and have coached as well, I've been benched and I've benched players. I have been a Donovan supporter for EVER I truly think he is something special. If I have one issue it's that I doubt his hunger. I know he is good, I know he can win, but sometimes I doubt his drive. Thursday will answer that question for me and I for one hope that my perception of McNabb is incorrect in that sense and he comes out with a chip on his shoulder and puts on a clinic.
I cannot stand the posts about fire Reid, trade McNabb, we've heard it all before and when push comes to shove Andy and McNabb have done more for us then we care to realize. Yes maybe we need a change but let's not be irrational, firing Andy now only dooms us further for the season. Trading McNabb is idiotic he is still top 5 QB in the NFL. I will not reply to anymore of those ridiculous posts or comments as I feel it is coming from straight emotion and not rational thinking. Please if you think otherwise feel free to offer some intelligent insight. I feel as though we owe it to both of these men the chance to prove this is just a slump, I guess I'm just saying shut the fuck up and let's finish out the season with the personell we have now and go from there.
When the season is over ...

The way i see it.....
ok here we go… McNabb is a top 5 QB like whodie said and wwe do owe both McNabb and Reid a chance to prove themselves but the truth is when McNabb doesnt want to be that scrambling QB and when Reid only designs offences to play that way then there is a clashing of the titans and it is Jeff Lurie’s job to step in and do something for his franchise.
So what do we do this off season?
well when people talk about trading McNabb i feel that is verry short sighted. look at the amazing abilities we have in Kolb and everytging he has proven us so far. PLus what would we get? and what do we need?……
Are we going to ask for a first round pick which he is clearly worth? no because we clearly cant afford 3 1st rounders. what else do we need? TE, WR, Saftey???
hounestly we have the room to pay McNabb and there is NO TE worth him. No Reciver i think is worth a McNabb trade and the only saftey i would go for is Polamalu and they dont need McNabb. the ttruth here is that the problem isnt McNabb its the offencive sceam.
well the the obvious answer to a poor planed out offence is to “fire Andy” right? Wrong,,, well maybe. if jeff lurie did what any good owner(which he is) should and would do he would step in and say to andy Change or i will make the change. did he do this? is that why gaither and Mcnabb got benched? or is that just andy?
its a bit of both probably… it is the only change really that can be done in the middle of the season isnt it?
well yes and no. you cant put in a new offence but you can change the play calling and utilize what we have. and that is speed and agility so lets see what offence works with what we have. well the answer is either the west coast or the “fun and Gun” offence.
se lets go with…… the only offence that we logicly can try now…. and that is the…..WEST COAST OFFENCE. By all means andy lets get back to what worked. screens, quick slants, RUNNING and playactions.
i dont see where the idea came from that you dont run in the west coast offence. it should be and absolutly could be half of the offence because play actions just do not work if the defence knows you dont run. so lets get back to true west coast offence and not this hybride that we put in place when we had TO. its just not working!
and now for the qustion of whats to happen when the season is over?
well i suggest keeping the best player in franchise history, or atleast the best offencive player and go from there. if andy doesnt fix things consider letting him go but really consider his replacement first. i hear parcells is looking for a new team?

Top 5 QB?
Let’s talk rationally. Make an argument of how McNabb is better, right now at this point in his career, than:
Peyton Manning
Eli Manning
Drew Brees
Tom Brady (IR)
Carson Palmer (IR)
Brett Favre
Kurt Warner
Tony Romo
Jay Cutler
Ben Roethlisberger
Jay Cutler
Philip Rivers
I’ll hang up and listen to your answer off air.

Mcnabb may not be better then those guys but with the exception of the last two games he certainly belongs on that list when healthy

while I agree at this very point
McNabb is not top 5 but he is still a top 5 QB in a slump. I mean last year
Peyton had 6 picks in 1 game last year, and 1 the game before that, and a stretch of 1 INT in 5 straight games.
Eli Manning had back to back games with 4 INTs then 2 INTs respectively and 2 sub 34 passer ratings (they won the superbowl btw)
The first 4 games last year Drew Brees threw 1 TD and 9 INTs.
Tom Brady (IR) okay I can’t argue this one.
Carson Palmer (IR) he throws a lot and a lot of picks and has some awesome receivers.
Brett Favre only has 3 games this year without a TD and a stretch of 3 TDs and 8 INTS.
Kurt Warner has been benched more times then I can count which is further proof that your can’t always count a QB dead.
At the end of the year last year Romo had 5 picks and 1 TD in 3 games (3 INTs were against us).
My point is that QBs go through slumps I’m not ready to close the door on McNabb yet he can bounce back and like I said if he is a true competitor that benching was a wake up call and he will respond. I’m saying that Thursday McNabb will either prove a lot or make fools of us all I’m hoping he is up for the task and think he is.

Top 5 QB? A Joke
Peyton Manning – Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison, AJ GonzalezDallas Clark, Joseph Addai, Dominic Rhodes
Eli Manning – Amani Toomer, Plaxico Burress, Brandon Jacobs, Ahmad Bradshaw, Derrick Ward, Kevin Boss
Drew Brees – Reggie Bush, Lance Moore, Marques Colston
Tom Brady- Randy Moss, Wes Welker ,Kevin Faulk, Laurence Maroney
Carson Palmer – TJ Houshmandzadeh, Chad Johnson
Brett Favre – Laverneus Coles, Jerrico Cotchery, Chancey Stuckey, Thomas Jones, Leon Washington
Kurt Warner – Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, Shawn Breaston, Edgerrin James, Tim Hightower
Tony Romo – Marion Barber, Terrell Owens, Roy Williams, Jason Witten, Patrick Crayton
Jay Cutler – Eddie Royal, Brandon Marshall, Brandon Stokley
Ben Roethlisberger – Hines Ward, Santonio Holmes, Nate Washington
Phillip Riversr – LaDanian Tomlinson, Vincent Jackson, Chris Chambers, Antonio Gates
If you can’t see that all of these quarterbacks are working with superior talent at running back, wide receivers, defenses, offensive lines…it goes on and on.
If you think that has nothing to do whether a quarterback is “better” or not, you’re incompetent.
The REAL question is: what could the Mannings, Brees, Bradys, Warners, Favres…would would they do with no running game, no max protection, no receivers, tight ends, etc.? You think Peyton would have won a Super Bowl throwing to James Thrash and Todd Pinkston? You think Kurt Warner would be getting mentioned as league MVP if he was throwing to Charles Johnson and Torrance Small? You think Brett Favre could put up his great numbers, interceptions included, with Brian Westbrook gaining 3.0 yards a carry the last 4 games, with 0 TDs.
Ya’ll don’t get it.
McNabb does more with less than ANYONE.
Ya’ll just don’t understand.

McNabb
Is 2x the qb Randall ever was, and I grew up emulating Randall on the playground.
To this day I throw a tighter spiral when I’m rolling left or right than when I just plant and pass…

I don’t think Randall had Fryar. Randall was with the Eagles 85-95 and Irving Fryar was 96-98.
