Not Such Fun Facts....
As an Eagles fan living in Baltimore, I am not looking forward to this week. My phone has already rung so many times that I've had to put it back on the charger. I'm stalling on going to work as long as I can. A co-worker left hints that my office is currently decorated in purple. I guess i should have locked it.
1. Passes "completed" to Ed Reed went for more yards than our QB's threw for the entire game.
2. Rookie Joe Flacco managed the game like a seasoned vet. Veteran Donnie McNabb mis-managed the game like a nervous Rookie. Joe was 13 years old when McNabb entered the league.
3. Baltimore outscored us by 29 points. They only had 42 more total yards.
4. We rushed 1/2 the amount of times as the Ravens did. They totalled 110 rushing, we totalled 86. Perhaps we shouldnt abandon the run. (Is it really called abandoning when it was never really there??) We averaged 4.1 yards per gain. Sound fairly successful to me.
5. Both teams had similar 3rd down efficientcy. 23% vs 29%.
6. We had 1 sack more than them.
7. We had 1 special teams TD. (Thanks QD.)
We were only outplayed on offense. Our special teams "wins" the battle there because of the TD. Our D was on the field 7 minutes longer and played to similar numbers. I'd call the defenses a wash...but nearly an edge to our side.
If you look at ALL stats, minus the turnovers, this game looks like it would have come down to the wire. Then you look at the INT's and realize the amount of opportunity Baltimore was given. (Even though they didnt take full adcantage til the 2nd half.)
A sad day as an Eagles fan, but an even sadder day as an Eagles in Baltimore.

When we run the ball half as much as the Ravens, and they only ran 24 yards more, we need to run the ball more. Andy Reid needs to smarten up and start calling some running plays.

Distortion
The Ravens had:
24 more yards rushing
18 more yards passing (net with sacks)
163 more yards returning interceptions
22 more yards returning fumbles
The Ravens started an average drive on their 44, us on our 26. That’s a 271 yard net differential in field position for the game.
Yes, the defensive front seven played well for the Eagles. No one else did though, except Demps.

the average drive start statistic is somewhat skewed by the
5 turnovers
our last 2 games can be blamed directly related to our turnover margin
-8, -8 are you freaking kidding me?
