Philadelphia at Baltimore the matchup
Both teams pretty much have to win to remain in the playoff picture. The Ravens are 6-4, and the Eagles are 5-4-1. A loss probably drops either team out of the race.
— After playing four of the last five games on the road, the Ravens get to play two straight at home. The home crowd should give them a lift.
— After getting handled by the Giants on Sunday, the Ravens have to prove they are real. They have only beaten one team that has a winning record, and that's Miami, which didn't have a winning record at the time. The Ravens also must prove they have something left in the tank. They have a lot of older players on defense, and there are questions surrounding whether they have enough left down the stretch.
— It will be interesting watching both defenses. The Eagles blitz as much as the Ravens. The major difference is that the Eagles have a veteran quarterback in Donovan McNabb, and the Ravens have a rookie in Joe Flacco.
The Eagles picked up another red-zone touchdown against the Bengals and scored on each of their two red-zone trips. They've become much more well-rounded in the past month, spreading the ball to a variety of receivers or using different backs, which makes them less predictable than they had been earlier this year, when they scored just eight touchdowns in their first 17 trips. They've scored eight red zone touchdowns by eight different players in their past four games.
Both teams got beat by the GIANTS lets look closer into this - as bad as it was the EAGLES lost to the GIANTS 36-31- but the RAVENS lost to the GIANTS 30-10
Its not just the eagles having trouble stopping the number 1 nfl ranked rushing team
I do have to say once again A loss probably drops either team out of the playoff race
But lets be optimistic not to repeat but remember , the RAVENS have only beaten one team that has a winning record, and that's Miami, which didn't have a winning record at the time.

Don't forget
My Ravens are 3-1 at home and have four of their last six at home, including a rematch against the division leading Steelers. While we may have not beaten anyone with a winning record, some of those teams have beaten those who do. We crushed Cleveland twice and look what they did to the Giants. We beat the Dolphins and they beat the Pats, Chargers and Broncos. We beat Cincy and they….well, nevermind, oh yeah, they took the Giants to the brink, and I almost forgot, they TIED you!
So, be careful and don’t underestimate the home field advantage, as the Ravens have one of the league’s best over the past 5 years.

it doesn’t matter what the teams you beat did … it’s what you have done and neither of these teams have impressed … I mean we played the Giants and Cowboys hard but gave away games to the Bengals (yes it’s a loss in my book) and the Bears. So beating the Phins and Cleveland and claiming to be good because they beat good teams is a joke.

In the NFL, ...
….a win is a win, and we have more than you do. You can say you played the Giants tougher than us, but you still gave up even more points to them than we did, regardless of how many you scored. I’d rather blow out and beat a shitty team than play a good team tough and lose anyday.

I agree a win is a win
but you were saying you are better then us because you beat Cleveland and they beat the Giants … it doesn’t matter what the teams you beat did against other teams that doesn’t make you good what makes you good is what your team does against good teams. I never said we were better then you … but I will now. We are better then you IMHO

huge game
this is a huge game for the eagles. if we can pick up a solid win on the road against a tough team it will go a long way to show that we’re still alive. a loss pretty much means its over. The key will be our defense getting to their rookie quarterback and rattling his cage. Jim Johnson was able to frustrate Matt Ryan, hopefully he can do the same here. and if Andy Reid trys to throw the ball 60 times against this defense I wouldnt be surprised to see McNabb leave the game with another season ending injury. lets hope the coaches wise up for this one.

The winner remains in the playoff hunt...
…while the loser is on the outside looking in. This game is HUGE for both teams and is looking to be a toss up if you ask the national experts, who are divided on their picks.

give an honest effort to get the running game going?
against the best (or 1 of the best) run d in the league?
Really? Only if Buckhalter is our starter.
More of the same with some trickery mixed in.

Did you know....
That the last time the Eagles came to my home of Baltimore was in 1997. You know what the end result was???? A 10-10 tie! Strange things happening in this league.

haha…that’s weird. I must be misremembering that they played in Baltimore in 2004. I guess that was at the Linc. (I sort of remember that being one of the more underwhelming performances by the Eagles that year. The evil one did his Ray Lewis dance and that’s really all I remember).
I wonder if I can bill Jeff Lurie and Peter Angelos for the years of therapy their teams are going to put me through.

I was at that game
They talk about how bad a tie is for the team in the playoff hunt. Imagine how empty the fans feel after paying to see your team win and they not only can’t do that, they can’t even lose the right way either. Our team put up a ton of points back then behind Vinny Testeverde, but our defense with a young Ray Lewis couldn’t stop anyone, which is why we lost so much. If we could transport the Ravens offense and the younger version of Testeverde to nowadays, combined with the current Ravens defense, we’d be world beaters!
I wonder what two offenses and defenses the Eagles fans would choose to combine into one team?
